8000. The frame and engine are a 2001. Everything around those has been replaced or upgraded.

I'd planned on a DR-Z 400 for some time, but now I think I might go with a CRF250L. It's been quite awhile since I owned a classic Suzuki TS185, and I've missed it ever since. Cool to see riders in the area, I've been reading some on the net about where some ppl ride/4x4 in the area. Cant wait to explore
If I had to choose between a CRF250L and a DRZ400, I'd go DRZ every time. They both weigh the same, the CRF suspension looks cooler but doesn't work any better and the DRZ does power wheelies! DRZ also has any aftermarket goody you can dream of available. I'll stop there, I'm sure it's obvious I love my DRZ.

I've wanted a DR-Z for about 3 years and was looking at all kinds of used ones on craigslist. There is no doubt it is a solid, tried and true workhorse of a dual sport. I started looking at these 250's mainly for their overall use. I really like the specs of the WR, but I cant see paying that much more for it. Some of the stuff Honda has done to the CRF has caught my eye. A fuel injected six-speed being one of them, and all kinds of nice little engineering changes to the engine. Like a 4mm cylinder centerline offset to help reduce lateral resistance, and spined cylinder sleeve. they have really thought this one through pretty well. I've got time to think on it, I still have to sell off a truck I own before I jump in. Either way...cant wait!

Me too. I was planning on riding that bike until it exploded. But there's a 1 bedroom apartment in my future and 2 bikes just isn't practical. Trying to keep a realistic perspective on what it's worth. I know what I've put into it and what I think it's actually worth and what it'll sell for are 2 very different things.

I'm still kinda on the fence. I like the DR-Z for many reasons, including ground clearance and meaty power. The draw of the CRF is being able to pay about 1100$ down and 75$ for 5 years instead of saving for alot longer to pay one lump sum on a used bike. I thought about financing a new drz, but both it and the WR new are like 2k$ more. I guess it depends on what I can sell my truck for...just cant wait to ride again.

Fun fun fun

Nice winter storm fun:

cheap chains on a Wrangler trumps thousands of dollars of upgrades. Unstoppable.

Ryan Young 2 Day Trials Clinic

We're looking at doing another Ryan Young 2 day Trials clinic at A53 on 12-13 April if anyone is interested.

Ryan will have modern (2013 or 2014) trials bikes for rent as well, so you don't even need a bike.
The skills you'll learn from Ryan during the 2 days apply to all forms of motorcycle riding and racing.
If you've ever wanted to try trials this is a great opportunity. No special riding kit needed other than a good helmet and a pair of over the ankle boots.

Last clinic was max'd out at 20 riders. Lunch included both days and primitive camping is available.

Has anyone else noticed that you can now buy a new Montesa at your local Honda dealer.

Got my request in today...that's right you have to request one. I imagine, not everyone that wants one will get one. They will be available to pre-purchase on 21 Feb with delivery scheduled in Apr.

I talked to Lynn Barker and Vann Gibson today at Honda Suzuki of Sanford. They said they'd be happy to work with anyone that is interested in one.

Here's a real vid for you guys...Grab a beer, chips, throw it on the big screen and enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFyp4BcnkUc

Oh I've tried it Magoo, but results weren't as nice as the vid or pic.

Thanks for posting the vid TW! Great start to the morning.

I'm in your neck of the woods having lunch at Angies Breakfast Barn. Rode the BMW down in the rain and spent some time with the nice folks at Sanford honda.
