We should be passing through Greensboro on the way up. Probably be there around 9 or 10... The details haven't been finalized yet. I'll repost as soon as it's settled.

Sweet!

Jim, we should be in sanford around 0745-0800. We can meet up at the BP on 87 (812 S Horner Blvd) and aim to leave around 0815.

4Redman, If all goes according to plan, we'd be in Greensville at 0945. It looks like there's a sheetz right off of 40 we could meet at. (4319 W Wendover Ave) and we'll aim to leave at 1000.

My cell is 910-624-7256, you can call or SMS any time.

Greensboro ride

Best(quickest) way out of there is 68 N to Stokesdale, take 65 west then 311 North after the RR in Walnut Cove to 89. From that area pick 66,8,40,Squirrell Spur, Willis Gap, Orchard Gap, all good twisty choices of paved road. Just link them together. You can't have a bad time.

Those are the main rpaved oads everybody rides. Off shoot roads all over the place.

Plenty of POLICE up that way too so be careful and have fun.

Minor Rant

Let me vent a little.

It is not just the cagers that want to run you over but sometimes it is other motorcyclists.

I was stopped getting gas when a pack of 6 to 8 Porsches went by the gas station I was at. I was interested in getting a closer look at them so when I finished I headed off in the direction they where going. I was making good time catching up to them when I got caught behind a line of cars and in front of them was two Hardley’s riding shoulder to shoulder 10 miles below the speed limit. I made it pretty easy to the front of the line of cars and as I was passing the last car between them and me the two H-D riders moved single file to the right side of the lane so I thought cool they are letting me ride through.

Wrong, I passed the first one and was pretty close to the lead rider when he jump back across the lane in front of me. As I covered my brake and cut the throttle he grabbed a handful of American V-Twin throttle and with straight pipes roaring he sped to the lead. At about 70 I started to pull next to him, once again he twisted the throttle and the screaming pigeon roared to the lead again. At about 80 his sunglasses started dancing around below his personal freedom violated “D.O.T.” approved skid lid. As he reached to keep his sunglasses from taking flight I got around him and moved ahead. Last I saw the two they where back to shoulder to shoulder high fiving and chest thumping each other.

To be honest the acceleration of the sparkling red chromed out big O beast was pretty impressive but it sounded like a bunch of firecrackers going off in a coffee can. I did have to down shift out of overdrive on my 700cc, 60k mile, 22 year old, assembled in Marysville Ohio, Honda, Magna to clear him.

Ok rant over.

Okie

Hogs

Slowest(loudest) things on the BRP.

I don't have much patience for those types of riders anymore. That is one of the main reasons I rarely ride the paved stuff anymore.

All the good twisty roads are plugged up with them most of the time.

Not the brand of bike, more the rider(poser).

Redman, sounds good.

If I was superstitious I'd be a little worried. I walked out to the bike to get it around back so she could get her street shoes on and there's a puddle of oil under the left fork (the brake side, nonetheless) and this immediately pisses me off so I kick a pillar for the carport pretty hard... (Ouch, don't over react.) Luckily, the brake isn't contaminated and I have a new seal on hand but I don't have any fork oil. (is a couple ounces that important? I doubt it).

So, then I wheel the 'ol beast around back and start swapping the tires. Man, they sure get a lot stiffer when it's cold out... I'm prying the shit out of the bead on the rear and suddenly a flash and I'm dizzy. I managed to let the iron slip and bash my teeth, a couple got a little loose and bloody and I busted up my lip, but no worse for the wear...

I'm riding tomorrow, come hell or high water.
