I was runnin' out of characters, so had to resort to build codes :) Truth is, the S10 tranny just took a crap last month, the XJ's engine (in true redneck fashion, sourced from a junkyard 5 years back for $300- and the jeep itself about the same!) went out the very next day. No big worry, though, as the Jeep was meant to be the development mule for my Diesel repower sothe blown engine was just an opportunity. A trip to Buffalo NY will soon get that on the roll, and I'm going to buy a new tranny if I can ever get Advance Auto nailed down on the terms of their warranty.... The Fiero... well, I've had it for 10 years, kissed a guardrail 8 years ago, haven't gotten rid of it yet (need to get to work there!) It runs, but the front end is scrunched on it so it's pretty much indriveable. (ahem) The 2006 650r was bought kinda on impulse. See, I bought a brand new bike without ever having ridden a bike (I tend to do stuff a bit different from most I suppose). But damn is it saving my arse right now-- I'd be up the proverbial creek without a paddle had I not learned to ride a motorbike last year (no way to work). I literally had meant to stop in at a bike shop for months "just to look" before I took the wife and kid to the airport last June and as I passed the place thought I'd just stop in. Next I know, it's a mad dash across town to the DMV to get my permit, and we're running my credit. But I'm just looking, of course.... .. oh, I'll take the silver one. The KLR was damn near given to me (traded for, really) with a blown head (shaddup... I should be so lucky, YFFs). I have obtained all the parts I need to get it back on the road-- and am waiting for Cary @ Schnitz to machine the jug and get the bigbore kit back to me (only took me a month to get off me duff to get the jug to him). Meanwhile I've added HT nerfs, radiator guards, tailguards, a rear carrier deck, gripheaters, etc- just about got it fully farkelized-- and the damn thing doesn't even run yet!! ZJ is wife's truck-- I'm barely allowed to do more than maintain it. :)

I see we are more in agreement than anything, then. Similar to the way I look at my jeep, really. (wish you hadn't told me that about the price of used F650s. I am considering trading the 650r in on something more of a dualsport nature, while keeping the KLR as well. 650r is the only thing I owe anyone money on, and I aim to change that by end of the year. Very cool ;)

JAFO, way too take a bit of ribbing in good nature.
Sounds like you have a lot of projects. BTW, the 2003 MZ Baghira above had less than 2000 kilometers on it when I got it. paid $3500, which was about 1/2 what it was new. It was bone stock. The copper colored enduro model (dirt sized wheel) one that was recently listed had about 1500 km and also sold for like $3K+. the Baggi's are a heck of a bargain and a damn good bike (Yamaha 660 5-valve motor). |

Jafo, You are a man after my own heart! I see Jeeps and a Fiero listed in your sig. I owned 3 Fieros in the 80's; 1984 4cyl auto, 2 v6's (auto and 5spd). I have owned 3 Jeeps as well; 1984 Renegade CJ7, 1985 stripped 6cyl CJ7 (new) and a 2002 Wrangler X 6cyl. If could make a Jeep work on my current job, I would trade my Ram and get a Rubicon and let the co pay for it!
