Last minute trip planning - N. GA

Hey N-GA folks, just had some time open up this weekend and here's the plan...for real this time.

I am going to leave Coastal GA tomorrow morning and ride to Cumming. The general route is...GA 17 (not US-17) from SAV to Elberton then work my way over to Cumming. The route is way open changes if someone wants to meet along the way. I don't ride interstate right now so that right out.

I plan to ride to the dahlonega-ish area and tool around Friday and then ride home Saturday via US-129/441 (pending anyone wanting to meet).

Is there anyone willing to take pity on this poor virginal traveler and give me some stuff to see, ADV riders to meet, or warning for the route?

Take care and see you soon.

Gabe

Go to Two Wheels Only motorcycle resort in Suches. You most certainly will find people to ride with.

Since you are riding UP from coastal GA, you could consider swinging a little further north towards Hiawassee and between Helen and Hiawassee taking GA 180 to Brasstown Bald. Follow the 180 Spur up to the top and you can claim Sea Level to the highest point in the state on this trip. IIRC, the Spur 180 is the road with the signs at the bottom that warns of steep grades, leave trailers here. It was a first and second gear climb for the F650 that kept the radiator fan running a good bit of the time.

But if that is too out of the way, any roads in that whole end of the state are good.

Oh yeah, I forgot.... If you continue west on GA 180 from Brasstown Bald, you cover some great road and end up in Suches where Two Wheels Only is located on GA 60.
