If i remember right, the way MAC did the tank buy last time was this. Everybody sent MAC the money in advance. MAC sent the money to Acerbis. They made the tanks and sent them to MAC. MAC then shipped them out from his Shop. Tanks went all over the world so doesnt really matter where your at.

I must say that I'm pretty impressed by this rotopax. I'm sorry it's so difficult to get in Europe. To me, it seems a better way to store extra gas. Acerbis tanks are too big and I'm affraid you can get a hole faster, especially where I live where we have tons of nice sharp rocks...

Since the acerbis tanks are almost impossible to get (at least for the klx-c) I was already thinking about a similar solution, the problem is that so far I haven't seen any container like that. In terms of material stuff, you americans are some really lucky bastards

I haven't heard a price yet? I am one of those lucky few that got one of the Acerbis tanks for the C model. They were not cheap. $375 total, but they were shipped to 2 Canadian distributors before shipping to the individuals. Because of the small run (15) they were all the same color, red which suited me.
Myway is correct in that you can't get all the gas out, about 1/2-3/4 gals stays in the left lobe. Maybe the R will be different. I have thought of adding a vac fuel pump to get it all, but my range is about 200 miles to reserve and that is usually enough. DNK the connects the OP has, but trying to accomodate buyers from all over the world will be difficult and take some up front $ unless he has a large bank account. At the time 15 tanks was the minimum number to consider for a run and I think the distributor had to eat a couple to make it happen.

I also got one of the red tanks. The contact in Canada at the Acerbis Distributor was Colin Gibb. He was at Northstar Motosport. He had a KLX650 himself and bought a tank for it. He did have one left over but that was a while ago. You might Google up Northstar Motosport and try talking to him about how the group buy was set up.

Funky Clutch
allright my clutch is acting up heres what happened.
was out on a long ride dumped it broke the front brake lever and rear master cylinder..was using the clutch a bit in first to slow the bike down..eventually I would pull in the clutch but it would keep dragging bad and the bike keep moving..i rode it back to the truck and headed home... well now it will not release..i figured it would be slipping from being over worked..but previous owner told me he installed a high end clutch kit with heavy duty springs..i still have a strong pull on the lever but it will not let it spin... is it possible to over heat the clutch and have it lock up ??

Going to need to do some top end work so wondering if anyone had parts or an old KLX laying around, or know of a guy who knows a guy? My search doesnt seem to be working even when i use complicated terms like 'klx' so if someone could just link me the results to a advrider search of klx or klx parts that would be great. thanks, jeremy |

Rear brake help
All,
My 94 C's rear brake reservoir is warped and cracked. I am looking for a new one, but I can't find any information on the part number. Right now, it holds fluid, but the lid does not seal and allows the fluid to slosh out or evaporate. Is it the same as the KLR650 unit? Any help would be appreciated. Bernie
