NOWAY, that's makes it sticky, for dust and dirt.

I use no oil on the chain, only real teflon, that dry's.

Chain keeps clean now.

New tires today!

Got 3200 miles out of my rear Michelin T63, front is still good for at least another 3k.

Trying out a Kenda Trakmaster II, I'll let you know on the miles I get out of it.

I ride about 50/50 or 60/40 Street/Dirt

Threw on a set of EBC Red carbon graphite brake pads front and rear too.

Broke my chain guide, so bought this one off eBay for $20, not too impressed with the quality, but it is a full box instead of just one single sided piece like the factory C piece. Not quite sure if I'd recommend it yet. It wasn't the right width, I had to make a spacer by cutting up what was left of my stock guide. Also, just FYI, I rode hundreds of miles offroad with a broken chain guide, with the chain set at the proper tension, and I never had any issues with the chain falling off.

Luggage racks for "R" model

Hi guys, I started making 2 rear luggage racks for both my "R" model bikes today. I used 20mm x 5mm alloy flat bar for around the edge and security alloy mesh for the infill and got them welded in. I have to start making the legs for them now but I thought I better straighten my rear sub frame first.
Cheers Fogo.

Heres a few pics.

@fogo, also think about a another seat connection, for easy oilfilter change, so your luggagerack can still be attached to the sidepanelbolts.

Something like this.

That a sweet mod Myway.
I have rubber mounts that I use to mount my rear fuel tank so I will just pick up them. I have drilled out the thread in the seat mounting nuts and drilled right through the inner rear gaurd from the inside with a 1/2" drill. I put a 8mm allen hex bolt from the inside and push it through the seat mount and seat lug and side cover so it hangs out the outside about 1/2". Then I have rubber mounts ( see pics ) that I screw on the secure the seat and side panel. On the end of the rubber mount there is another thread to mount what you like. I use this system to mount my rear 12 litre alloy fuel tank and my clothes bag goes on top. I did a 5000 klm trip and it gave me good movement and saved my subframe from cracking. Myway nice seat mod but when I am all packed up my saddle bags sit over my seat so everything has to come off anyway

Cheers Fogo....

How to make a windscreen for an "R" model.

Guys I made two new windscreens for my 2 "R" models today, I'll show you how I did it.

Order a sheet of 2mm Lexan, 300mm x 300mm

Mark two lines down the sides 45mm from the edge.

Put the lexan in a vice between two bits of angle iron and heat the marked line with a heat gun and bend to 45 deg's.

Mark out shape and sand back edges smooth with file and sand paper and mount to headlight shroud, remove protective film.

Stand back and check out your work.
Holy shit Batman am I seeing double?

Cheers Fogo...
