Need to replace rear shock on my 1993 KLX650c. I've read here about replacing with DRZ400 shock. Are all models DRZ400SM, E, and S shocks the same or does only one model fit. Also does the year of DRZ make a difference. Looking forward to getting bike going again. Thanks for any advice.

KLX charging sys
Hey guys getting cold here in MN so I put a gerbings plug on the KLX. I am just running a jacket liner. I also wired up some grip heaters. When running both grips/jacket the grips dont get very hot. Is this to much to ask of the stock stator? KLR stator is bigger will it fit? anyone know of any aftermarket stators?

did some more checking. with a volt meter on the btry and both grips/jacket running I get 12.5volts. not charging, this IS too much to ask of the stock stator
now just need to know a somewhat inexpensive solution to make my KLX the winter bike I want it to be.

Now I don't know. To find a c tank here is almost impossible, then when I find it, the guy won't ship it to my country and so... R tanks are quite more common, but then I have to get a new seat. Myway: if you spot something on the german ebay let me know, I have terrible problems with the german language never can find anything there ![]() Can you pm me the entire email of downrider please? Cheers!

I see now the stator output is the same as a KLR. does anyone know if the high output KLR stator will bolt in a KLX?

fle, yes the Acerbis R tank fits the C model. As itsatdm has posted it requires relocating the coil and front turn signals. The C seat fits good
by reducing the length of the front mounting tabs on the frame, thus allowing the seat to slide forward against the tank. The rear seat mounts didn't require mods because they appeared to already be slotted for f/r adjustments when installing the seat. Also I removed the stock petcock frame bracket to allow easier access to the Acerbis tank petcock.Don't remember if that was necessary, but I do remember it interfering to quick access. Not good with a computer but I wish I could post pics.Pictures are worth a thousand words of explanation...:)...David...'94 KLX C |

There is no way you can relocate the orig. turnsignals, only you can us small ones. Her the c tank has a hole for the turnsignal ![]() Thanks for the picture!!! The r tank has 17 liter the C tank has 19 liter according to what acerbis says. KLX 650R 17 Liter ArtNr. AC15-91 (grün) KLX 650C 19 Liter ArtNr. AC15-92 (schwarz) Org C tank 12 l Because the petcock is higher and the carb is higher you do not get all the fuel out. So what do you win when you compare it with a C steel tank. |
