I'da put on somethin' like your avitar... now that's different.

Here's one you could do to if you found a good place for it. I made it up in CorelDRAW and that file is ready to print at most sign/sticker printers:

Ignore the white, it's just the background on the jpeg. The actual sticker will be only the swirl with the black outline.

This was the old 60s Kaw emblem, except the update of the flag in the center. It is the design I have on an old school style hat I have. If anyone wants to use it, give me a yell and I can forward the CorelDRAW .cdr file. Any printer who uses Corel can enlarge or shrink it as desired. Freebie.

I made it up to use on the KLX, but haven't yet. I like doing designs like this. I did the stuff on my helmet below too:

Here's one I did for my dad's garage where I goofed around for the past 38 years, just a residential garage, nothing special - except him tolerating my antics. Then there's the one for the cam chain tensioner project.

I did designs for laser engraving and then again for as a teacher teaching some graphics in high school. It's just fun to do the stuff.

New to KLX

Hi all, I've been searching for riders/owners like you all for a while, glad to finally be here. I have 96 klx 650r, I just ordered a 42mm Mikuni because the current carb is shot, I need a new tank (where & how much for a new one), Radiators fan? and power bomb header(which one will fit, KLX not listed). I love the bike when I can get it running, can anybody help? Also, where can I get a repair manual? I'm currently deployed to the middle east (Florida National Guard) so it might take me a while to respond. Thanks in advance,
Georges

Just read this whole thread!!

As I have just bought this lovely thang

I have just given it a clean and a polish and am pretty pleased with the condition.

Looks to me like it has only been a road bike all its life - no trail scars

and good rims

I have had to replace the carb diaphragm and set the pilot jet and have a new clutch, exhaust and a manual cam tensioner on order. So watch this space for questions when I start to try to fit them!!!

Thanks, it's on 16k miles Trouble is that it's now a 16 year old bike and it seems a shame to use it as an Adventure bike now in view of the good condition.

New gas tank

Just ordered a new gas tank thanks to Feffs77, I'm in need of an exhaust system for my 97 KLX650 and new radiators w/hoses. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
Georges

Good price on a Pro-Circuit -

Unless you want a stock pipe that's butchered on the end, if so pm me.

Check the Yahoo Groups on hoses or eBay.

Okay, so now the questions start!

My bike would appear to be missing some sort of battery cover for this area.

If so, I would be grateful if someone could show me a photo of theirs and/or point me towards a parts diagram so that I can see what is missing.

Also, I don't seem to have a spark plug socket that will fit the KLX, what size do I need please?

Oh, and one last thing, anyone know a paint code for the purple colour on the frame?

Thanks.

It is a acerbis tank, but mine is looking 1/4 turn to me. So different.
All the four acerbis tanks i have, so i tink it is a acerbis petcock from a different acerbis tank.
