A camp pic of Weston Pass where my friend & I decided to stop for the day since the rain wasn't letting up.

I believe I met this fine gentleman a year or so back, at the Santa Cruz BMW dealership in Watsonville, CA. I recognize the bike, from the saddle to the extra lights.

In the Alberta badlands.

This is a little B.C. Forest Service campsite west of Osoyoos, B.C. Some of these are freebies, and almost all are by water. This one was free, which suits my KLR-like soul.

A very nice B.C. Forest Service campsite by the Cowichan River, west of Duncan, on Vancouver Island. Pricey (by my free-preferred standards) but I had The Kidlet with me. This is from 2009.

Horne Lake, B.C.

This is west-ish of Merritt. There was a nasty forest fire in the interior of B.C that year, and it did this to the moon.

Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick. The bike is up a walking trail - campsite overlooked the cliffs into the Bay of Fundy. At some hour of the morning, we woke to the sounds of whales surfacing in the ocean. May be my favouritest-ever "I-paid-for-it" campsite.

The Lady at the campfire. Grand Manan, NB.

Same spot, on Grand Manan. Warm sun trickles down in the late August afternoon.

That is fantastic. Where abouts in the Namib? I went to the Skeleton Coast a couple of years ago, and was fascinated with the remoteness and beautiy of it all.
Now that Lions are supposedly going back, did you see any there?
Post some more!

My favorite camp pic

This picture was taken at sunrise in the first camp of a 3800 mile road-trip. It was near Silver City Idaho. I camped for the entire 12 days without spending a single dollar for campsites or lodging...

This was later on in Elko NV...

Did I mention that the trip was in November????

This is an absolutely amazing spot ... unlike anything that I've ever seen. Not the most developed campground but the cliff side campsites are unique to say the least. Wouldn't want to have too many wobbly pops while camping there !

I'm originally from NB and returned to work for 8 months last year (unfortunately without bike) and went over the Grand Manan on the Easter long weekend just for something to do.
