Conspicuity lights.
![]() I shamelessly stole this idea from DrMoto in the KLR250 thread. These 1.5W LEDs are from superbrightleds.com and the pair was less than $15 shipped. ![]() These brackets go on the upper mounts for the front wings. And here is one mounted (you can see I added two more holes for a zip-tie around the power cord). ![]() These are out of the way but not as shielded as it looks in the photo -- I can see them from about 45 degrees. EDIT: This is where I got the lights: http://www.superbrightleds.com/morei...watt-led/1141/

Im running a KLX needle with stock jets, a de tweeted stock can and a de snorkled airbox. I have made some adjustments to the air screw and the power improvement is significant, however the hit I took on fuel economy was significant too. I went from 50-55 mpg to 40mpg and I dont ride it like I think Im winning some race.

You need to jet down with the KLX needle, 140 or 142 seem to work well. I think a 140 would be best for your set up and get some of your mpg back. ![]() .

Also, with the KLX needle MPG is greatly affected by the clip position. I just leaned the needle out by one click and my mileage increased tremendously.

Red frame. White plastic tank. It's obviously a DuKLRti Monster.
You call the dash crude, but it looks to me like it'll work. Volt display at lower right?

Well after lurking in the nav tower thread over in Racing I'm sticking with crude, definitely function over form You're correct, it's a volt meter. Upper switch is main power (no keyed ignition) and lower w/led is for heated grips. The redundant clock is only there because I'm old school and I need something analog. I have room for more gizmos and doodads but I don't really need anything else ![]() .

Doesn't mean it matters, but...
In FL at SEA LEVEL I run a 142, 42 2nd clip on KLX needle and can lift it at will. My KLR can hold pace with most KTM's but I HAVE been riding for 30yrs so my XP may account for something ...JUST SAYING I love watching Orange catch up to red and black...

Yesterday I added the Happy Trails Rallye Windshield Kit. I really like the dash and the extra protection. It was 3 degrees F yesterday morning so I didn't get to try it yet.
The holes on the HT frame did not exactly line up with the stock shield. I tried everything then called Heath at HT. No problem, after I sent him a pic of the issue he agreed to send a new frame. Great customer service.

Oh yes, here comes another thought, a memory from the not so distant past, I was thinking the main was too lean because I would run out of power 10% before I ran out of throttle. Maybe the slide just tops out early. Who knows, ill use the recommended jets and clip position.
