Just wanted to say thanks for the RR and pics. The photos of the eagles and the Mongolian hunters are simply amazing. Thanks for taking the time to bring these unbelievable experiences to all of us.

Hey Guys,

Looks like you are having fun. I loved the 'Stans. A highlight if you ask me.

Keep up the good work.

I am amazed you got Iran visa's. If you cross the border from Mary in T/M you will get to Mashad. The place is a dump and it is sprawling with war refugees, but the shrine there is the greatest religious site I have ever been to. Go during prayers and later when they are not praying. Both awesome. Don't miss Esfahan if you can work it in. And there are some cool caves near the Turkish border that most people miss (if you are headed that way).

I read on HU that the English govt. have requested that Pakistan does not give visas to UK citizens, so if you are headed that way, you might want to look into that.

still in Tajikistan

Well, it's coming up for 1:00am here in Tajikistan and it's been one hell of a day.

We had it confirmed that we can pick up our Turkmenistan transit visa's this Thursday, got hit and run off the road (Lisa was on the back with me) this morning by a 'class A Git' and spent the rest of the afternoon, evening and night getting our new 2RTW online store open with it's first offerings.

We've spent two weeks putting together a 2010 photo calendar from our travels through Central Asia, including some new photos from Mongolia. We're more than a bit excited.

If you fancy supporting us a little or want to grab an early X-mas gift then here's the link http://stores.lulu.com/2ridetheworld

We're putting together the ride report for Central Asia right now and hoping to get it up asap.

Cheers for now.

Simon
Great photos of the raptors, they're big. A friend of mine has had two Harris hawks for a number of years that I've been up close to, serious birds. He doesn't hood them often, more when they were young. Did they use whistles there? The man/bird bond is pretty unique, thanks for the photos.

Ricohman- re photo size

which photos do you mean? I think that the last eagle photos are not too small..!
or do you mean the calendar? I'm a bit confused as to which you are referring to. Let me know and I will see what I can do.
Unfortunately I cant put up super-big images as we have found so many of our photos on other websites and some even used commercially..yeah... its a shame to have to think this way.

cheers

Just use some sort of "waterstamp" on the pictures and you should be sorted. Yes, it IS a shame people don't pay for what they use commersially.

thanks Steffo

yeah - thanks for that Steffo - its something that we should do if we have to put up the pics big...thats why we had hoped we had posted them here at a decent size.....
we know it doesnt take long to do...but getting all of this done ie. website, photos, road reports, articles, etc...whilst on the road is a real punisher.
sorry - didn't mean for that to come over as complaining as we know we have a fantastic life if a bit desperate at the mo!

We are glad that you are all enjoying it.
sorry we've not had the time to update things just recently but we have been working on the on-line shop that Simon mentioned above.
Hope you've all had a chance to look at it!
