dang that thing looks badass! I love that inner rear fender. What's with the texture behind the seat? Is that a piece of leather going across the gastank? I bet there a story behind those frame braces too.
I want to black out my engine so bad I can taste it! Did you use engine paint or go for powder coating? Could you give me some info on anything to look out for? Hard parts to tape off? Did you leave the cylinders on the block? lookin good!

Thanx. I think this is not the right thread to discuss how it's build.
The conrod is just a temporary solution, I just wanted to know if it works that way. I have to make a new (beter looking) one that is much stiffer. This one is aluminium and bends too much. It works, but it can be better. |

be sure and link from this page on that build up thread if you don't mind.
i'd like to know what speedo you used among other things...and those bar end blinkers don't look like /2's.

M1OB: somehow I first had the impression you are Aussie, but now I see a Dutch connection...... from whence did the bike come, and you are...... where....?
That bike is one of my "save as favorites", especially as I have just bought a frankenbike with the same wheels... so THANK YOU for the link to see the evolution of the seat/subframe etc. I like!! ![]()

By the way, I am Dutch, but I fell in love with Australia and the Ozzies during the 11 months I spend backpacking down under. I will go back some say after I'm fnished at the university. |

Another Oz here!
Just checked out your forum postings (.nl) - and saved all your pictures - lovely work mate - lovely work! Questions: what sort of tank (Suzuki something?) How did you make the bent gear lever linkage? (I've got kickstart only on mine as well) How did you attach the rearsets? I;m slowly building my R65 CR - from scratch, more or less, incorporating a lot of the ideas on this forum, and a few of my own. Started modifying the frame yesterday and will continue today on my lunch break (I "work" from home) Cheers -
