can't wait to see the pics and read along. like a guy said to me on my recent Prudhoe Bay attempt - "you better get moving - it's getting late in the year..."

sounds as if they (the 34 for 40 guys) have staged their bikes in Prudhoe and are flying in and then departing Prudhoe Bay.

Hope the weather works for them - this sounds like an awesome trip.

:)

Yup...you go Dave!

I've got his Sat Phone number if you guys would like to call and wish him well. He's told me that it will be free for him to receive calls and he can answer from his helmet automatically if he is at a comfortable point in the ride.

The training videos are pretty cute...click on "videos" at the website.

34 for 40????????

The last entry on their web page had them leaving Prudoe Bay on Sept 1....

Should only take a day to get to Tok or even further south if they are going to get to the tip of South America in 40 days............Lots of internet access on the Alaskan Highway............

Anyone hear from them?

Where are they

What happened to the two or three ridders going from Prudhoe to Ushuaia Argentina. They left Prudhoe 3 days ago and no updates on their progress.
Prudhoe 3 days ago was 35f and drizzle. I road a 650 Dakar to Ushuaia this past Febuary and the heated grips do not work that well for a wet near freezing temp.

I merged your thread with this one. No updates on the 34for40 site as of Sept. 1 We'll keep checking.
