I remember spending a lot of time 'cleaning the bikes' with guys I used to ride with when I was real young. Lots of spare time back then.
It was fun, it was so fun having a motorcycle I think I just wanted to spend time with it.

The downside of frequent cleaning is the water getting into everything, and it does not always get out. It gets into the electrical stuff and rusts things.

The underside of the gas tank on my DR was quite rusty, lot of the hardware is rusty, the frame has rust on it.

Every so often, when its due for checks and service, I think I will wash it.

I tend to like old stuff better then new stuff, and enjoy fixing things.
Before getting the dr, I was thinking of getting an old Honda sl350!
Hard to get parts for though....
My dual sport before the DR was a 1969 Triumph Daytona, lots of fun.
Hardly disposable...
