I'll be leaving from DC sometime on Friday afternoon. Anyone in the area, post here or PM me if you want to tag along.

I forgot to mention the National Park Service campground just off the Parkway at Mill Mountain in Roanoke. Its only 2 miles from town if you need to get supplies.

I'm up in West Jefferson, NC this morning (north of Boone). I'll probably head out on the parkway and take my time getting there. I'm shooting to arrive before sunset. That's all I can say for now, other than I'm looking forward to it.

Forget the parkway, take 221 and have some fun...or 21 and then pick up 58 and head west. The parkway is boring, why is it everybody wants to ride it?

There are a ton of great roads out of West Jefferson and the in the Sparta area.

Look at a map, what looks fun? It probably is.
