Oh they do. They'd race for free if they had to. But market economics dictate they don't have to.
Hayden will likely choose the option which he believes will give him the biggest chance of winning, then try and find a way of getting paid as much as possible on that ride. At this level, winning is more important to riders than money. But that doesn't mean that money isn't important ...
