640 Adventure won't idle

A few weeks ago my 2006 640 began giving me troubles on start up. It would not idle after having difficulty starting it in the first place. I would have to turn up the idle until I rode it for 30minutes or so then it would start running too fast. That was only happening during the first start of the day, then it would be fine hot or cold the rest of the day... that was the case for a half dozen rides or so and now the last time I tried it would not idle no matter how long I rode it or what I did with the idle screw.
It had its first service about 2 months ago and the mechanic said he adjusted the valves as they were a little tight. Other than that it doesn't have many kms on it and few unrelated mods...

Of the top of my head...

pinched tank vent hose.
junk in the fuel pilot jet.
badly misadjusted idle mixture screw.
valves misadjusted (too tight)
intake air leak at manifold or carb vacuum cap.
spark plug cap connection with high tension lead is poor.
pinched or kinked manifold to fuel pump vacuum hose.
bad Karma.

Idle update

It turns out in the end that the pilot jet was clogged.

Thanks again Creeper!
