Wow! CCM!
I have a friend who has a 441, 1967. He practically grew up riding it once he was tall enough. The big end started to go bad so we tore it apart. I just went to his website, it's been over two years. Now that I have the TR6R, he might be getting motivated.

Haha, awesome, I recognize you from the XL forums!

Since I have you here, any idea where I can get a stock exhaust for my 76? Or fork seals? Or brake shoes? I cant find this stuff anywhere, I swear, the 76's must be the rarest of the XL250's

xl500

I recently bought this 1980 Honda XL500. 5000 miles, stored near coast, so some rust. Everything but blinkers works. I'm trying to post image but I can't figure it out. The link to photobucket pic is below. If anyone can tell me how to post pic, let me know.

I just love the torque and smooth running. Just runs great. Had to replace front tire with Cheng Shin since Bridgestone Trailwings 9 in 23" is out of stock until who knows when.

With compression release adjusted, it starts easy on first or second kick. Takes longer if I forget to turn ignition on.

This weekend I did change out stock main jet - 155 went to 158. I thought this would be right move since it runs an opend up airbox and supertrapp.

Sure wish I could find new rear shocks for cheap. Best I could find was $160 for 2 plus shipping!! If anyone has any idea, please let me know.

Picking up a 1974 Honda MT250 today - runs + drives ok - needs rear shocks bad. Going to be my winter project. Leads on parts for these old things? It sure is a gas!

I've had an '83 KL185 for a few years, ride it a couple of times a month. Nice to be reminded of how far bikes have come in 20 years. Antique plates in '08!

I'm a big vintage bike fan.....could be because I'm getting pretty "vintage" myself...lol! Here's my vintage adventure tourer, '82 XL500R.

Really fun bike! I only rode it once, 15 miles to get it home.

It's here!

3300 miles, hard miles it looks like. Speedo + Tach work, none of the lights work, lots of stuff bent + missing. Drives around the yard fine. Down a foot peg, but I got to 50 mph no problem! Runs good! Rear shocks are DONE.

Now to get the list of needs going!

new to me, my first dirt bike. after a few years without a bike and years before that of ever faster street bikes ending with a 916 laid down at 130 mph, its great.
