WOW! Call me anal... but I can't stand to my RT look'in like that. Of course since we have'nt had shit for rain in a while, all I've had to worry about is dust and general road grime.

Howdya like that Remus?

It's pretty wet where I ride right now, so why wash it? Wash today, and it looks exactly like these photos again tomorrow. I figure the big chunks wash off and yer left with a nice, protective layer of road spooge. Heh...ain't many bugs out right now, so that's a plus

The Remus is suh-weet

Shame

Photographic evidence of gross neglect. Shame on you Fish!
Go clean it. Don't forget to wax the inside of the fairing.

That's the way I look at it. Ya know, last night I was actually feeling
a little guilty for not washing any of my vehicles recently. The Jeep's
got a good coating of mud on it, and debris all over the inside from
my last load of 1/4 cord of almond firewood. The GS has road spooge
from the top of the tank down and a face full of bugs, and the RT is
pretty much covered with road spooge (but it still shines!). So I was
thinking about maybe finding the time to pull out a bucket and a sponge
and the hose today. I might actually do it. But I doubt it. It's going to be
a beautiful day today...why waste it? I'm gonna go for a ride. We'll see
what happens around beer o'clock if the sun's still out...then I might wash
it.

Or hey, better yet...here's what it looked like last time I washed it (actually,
the only time I washed it):

With my intrepid assistant:

Hay Fish--right on---

Sort of like the new guy on the job with the bright shiny tools new out of Sears, or the scuba diver that comes on board with all the latest equpt. all bright and never wet, or the interns first day at the meat market with the brand new stethascope, or the new secretary with the latest spell checker (which I could use). Anyway, If there ain't no wear on it, I tend to wait awile before hanging with it.

BIKES ARE MADE TO RIDE, NOT WASH !
Unless you do it at the same time......

Finally, a thread that I can relate to. "How do I get the blueing off my headers?" Blueing??? Mine are stinking BROWN! I recently had a guy ask me if my front wheel was black-anodized or powder coated!

I've never understood those custom dudes that spend all Saturday every Saturday washing and polishing their bike so it looks cool on their Sunday ride to the bar. I spend about 1/2 hour to do mine, and probably washed it about 8 times all year. I rode it a little over 30,000 miles last year. THAT to me is the proper wash/ride ratio!

I agree that "bikes are made to ride".
