And for writing, you HAVE to read "Detroit to San Diego, Zen and the art of motorcycle negligence," by Vermin. AWESOME story.

Epic story and epic photos.

This and 3xKTM go east were on my mental list to add today.

Thanks for the link to Detroit -- I'll check it out!

BTW, PM, this thread is a great idea.

Do you have Rogue1's original thread, "Took a little ride"? It's way on top of the list for me...

It's not in there yet. Got a link for me?

There are quite a few updates on page 1 now. Anything with Fresh Meat has been added in the last 24 hrs.

I've asked GB/Lobby to prune out the bizzaro pics so we can get this thread back on track.

Thanks Lobby! It was a good idea back in 2006 when it was first posted too.

Perhaps I should link to this very thread in the blue balls category?

I gotta nominate Makiko Sugino for the "Best ride report posted by everybody except the rider" category
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=228592

Or maybe just chuck it in "Epics" or the unlikely machine one

Love your thread. A couple of my favorites are already on the list. Didn't see one of my all time favorites. Two of my favorite ADVers, Shogs and KayLR both told me I should read this. How right they were.

It's Crooked Road's transcription of Chas K Findlay's ride from Alabama to Virginia in 1916 or so, when he was all of 16 or so, on an Indian. A fascinating look at what motorcycling and life was like many, many years ago.
