North Texas, Palo Duro Canyon
I'm planning a trip to Palo Duro Canyon, and need some maps, gps track logs, or ideas on where I can do some off road riding. Anybody been up there that can offer some advice?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mitchel |

The only offroad riding in PD Canyon(the park) itself is mountainbike or horse riding. Motorized not allowed. There's some great offroad trails near Silverton at Lake MacKenzie. Tho the majority of the trails are probably too technical for a dualsport, don't know, depends on the bike I guess. Nice camping too. Give me a holler if you'd like me to show you around. I'm just getting into the dualsport thing. Pick up an '04 KLR650 tomorrow.

Thanks for the response. I figured riding in the park would be out, but the canyon seems to stretch pretty far north and south of the park, so we'll just have to see.

There's private land in Palo Duro Canyon.
The family that owns one large chunk allows the Jeep Jamboree to run there. They also do something called cowboy chuckwagon breakfasts...or cowboy morning breakfasts...sumping like that. The Amarillo C of C should have their info. Also Texas tourism. |
