I've used mexpro.com for a couple of years now for full coverage on my GS in Mexico. All done online, they send you a pdf file, print it out, and you're good to go.

mexpro does not cover medical for motorcycles according to their website, not sure that can be called full coverage.
i've never used these guys but next time i travel abroad on my bike i will http://www.medjetassist.com/default.asp?partner=default $200 a year and they'll fly you back home. we skipped buying insurance in mexico because all we could find was liability and what's the point in that? chances are if you really damage a car beyond what you can pay out of pocket you have an entirely different problem.

The problem you will have is if the cops show up at the accident. Your bike will be impounded and you might be also. It's cheap "stay-out-of-jail" insurance as much as it is liability insurance. Many of the policies include the services of an attorney and bail money. Dan

maybe, depends on who you are. i don't advocate not buying insurance and i always have while in a car traveling through central america and mexico. like everything else in latin america involving the law who you are is the first consideration for the enforcement of any given law. you can go through these forums and find many cases of people forced to pay roadside fines and all kinds of official hassle but very few if any of these people are latin americans. we are used to the law being the law for all here in the usa but that is unfortunately not the case in most of the developing world. again, i would advise everyone to buy insurance, tourist card, import papers for the vehicle and even a fishing license rather than risk a hassle with the law in mexico.

They can also tack on things like environmental damages, road damages...and I'm sure there are others...

I met a rifder in Baja a few years ago who'd just bought a new RT, new to riding and didn't get insurance. Heard later that he had an accident (his fault) and wound up leaving the bike there, flying home...still making new bike payments.

Better to forgo the insurance and do like Gustavo, take an ugly bike. Don't take anything you mind losing...thats the way I look at it. I'm taking an old CB or FJ next time.

Course theres always the KLR option...I mean, who would steal...THAT?

Sure you was. It is a good point though, hell if I was looking to steal a M/C it sure wouldn't be a KLR especially if there was a bicycle sitting beside it.

My thoughts exactly.... I want the ugliest, least expensive bike in the group. And I always try to park next to the newer GS's and KTM's. Then I don't need to worry about someone taking mine. Hell, I could probably even leave the keys in it.

for the strom, theft is offered

I went back to bajabound.com and confirmed that theft, partial theft, and physical damage are in fact included in the policy. Again, medical coverage is not provided. This policy was through ACE Platinum. Not sure why a GS (BMW I assume) would not be covered as stated by an earlier poster.
