Yeah, I reckon 110/90 would be too tight after seeing this one fit. After I bought this one I talked to PK and think he's running a 100/100 on Kims bike too. If I keep the little bike for any length of time I'm going to play with the gearing, and then I'll just buy a chain that's longer, and move the axle back.
The tank availability is what'll make my choice about the XT having a long time home here

honestly - i'm not going to perform said mod, because the bike is my girlfriends and she needs the tame power. if she starts to complain - i'll open up the box, uncork the muffler, and rejet the bike... you know.... Z225 the hell out of it

I am running the MT21 front and rear.
Here is my luggage. The bike works GREAT and is nice and stable. When these tires are done I am going with the Duro's or Avon Distanzias.

When I wear out my stocks on my XT250 (cheng shins) - I'm not sure what I should get. I'm only about 115 - 120 (depending on summer or Christmas Time), and I'm only 5'4. I ride both highway and dirt, but I really despise the way the stocks handle on the gravel in our driveway...

I know most tires don't do well in gravel, but sheesh!@ No matter how tired I am when I get home, I have to pray I don't dump it just getting it into our garage. Most days I'm fishtailing all the way up the driveway.

In my experience it seems that narrow tires do better in the type of gravel roads and driveways here in Western North Carolina. I replaced my stock tires with Avon Distanzias sized 80/90-21 on he front and 110/80-18 on the rear. They are fine on single track as long it is not deep mud. I don't ride in deep mud so they are fine for me.

The bonus using those tires on the XT225 is they just might last longer than the rest of the bike! The 225 is very easy on my MT21's, making knobbies on the highway not such a waste of cash.

Im glad you caught my sarcasm turblo! I too find it funny, which is exactly why I corrected the poor poor fella so he got is mod-moniker right! Theres all kinds of stuff like that online an its great fun to read the shade tree mechanic's tales of endeavour in say.. replacing a tire, or checking valve clearances, or one of my favorites the "3x3 mod" for a DRZ. call it what you want, it will make your bike breathe like it should from the factory if it werent for the damn epa standards. same for restrictive exhaust. I know I personally started out knowing not much about wrenching on bikes, and if it weren't for these online forums and their silly names, I probably wouldn't have gotten very far, and I certainly wouldnt be as comfortable as I am now at taking my bike apart an putting it back together.

Hey, at least they arent charging money for it - thats a great marketing strategy - give something a fancy name and it goes from something mundane and confusing to the average peanut eater to an exciting "mod"!

Okay, they picked up the bike today. Color options, see the website, take your pick. $209. I think was the price. They took my bike again to fit the new 4.1 gallon tank to it..... Pics to follow maybe Thursday, I do not think he will make it back up tommorrow. Get ready, it is happening, they are taking orders soon, if not already.........

here's a shot of the tread wear on my Distanzias at aprox. 12k miles, Still run smooth, but are starting to follow the grooves in the road when I transit the construction sites, which are everywhere here in Jax these days.
