Awesome, thanks! They have one more circle than the emblem on my car :) they look good, but what the hell does the end opposite the bar end mount to? In the assembled pic it looks like it mounts to something vertical?

Damn, hit 30.5 thousand km's and I seem to have a substantial leak coming from the bottom of the engine
I drained the oil for a change after noting how low it was in the sightglass, and only 400ml came out, so I knew there was an issue. Bike had never burned a drop between changes before. I have isolated the issue ( I think) to either the drain plug needing a new o-ring (please!) or the main case gasket leaking (no thanks.) I replaced the three bottom screws w/ SS ones on the case and tightened then to about 8 ft/lbs (Manual says about 5.1 I think). Now oil seems to be evident just around the center screw and the drain plug. Next step of action is to replace drain plug o-ring. Anybody have any experience with oil leaking from "down there"?
Bike is a 2000, and is probably just p!ssed off that it may be sold soon

Ahh, makes sense, thanks! On another note, I talked to a friend last night who has a lot of experience with titanium and carbon fiber (builds bicycles). So I pose a question... If you could replace a part of the little xt with a titanium (or carbon) replacement, what would it be? I've got a few ideas of my own but open to any others (aside from the frame, I don't see that happening!)

How about the tank, fenders, and body panels? The carbon fiber would look nice, and would be a lot easier & cheaper to make than the titanium.

1. Thanks for the feedback on the upside down rear brake linkage.

2. I've been happy with the D-Flex handguards. Protect well on dumps. Easy to install.





3. I just finished writing up a report with pics and thoughts on riding the GDR with an XT225.

That's a very good price for the stock oem chain for the Yamaha XT225.. 40 chains were available.. Cheers..

P.S. Chain is long enough for those running bigger sprockets inc 15-58T.. Stock length is 120 links for 15-45T..

Hello everyone! I just stumbled across this forum, glad I did.

I scanned through a few pages, looks like there will be some helpful info here for me.

Quick question, does anyone know of a place to find cheap used/new stock xt225 parts? I mainly need; blinkers, fender (rear), and gas tank. My bike is a 1992 Serow. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Honestly, I'd think flea-bay, but depending on prices, you might just buy a larger Clarke 4.1 g tank for just a bit more than a used metal one. Sometimes dealers have cheap take-off turn signals from guys replacing them w/ Baja ones. Check xt225.com in the buy and sell section as well, there'll be some stuff for sure over there.

I'd buy aftermarket off fleabay if I were you. I just picked up a Clarke tank so would consider selling my stock one... It does have one smallish dent in it from when it and a tree decided to play sandwich with my knee...
