I have a Powercore 4 pipe on my bike. It is loud and obnoxious for my needs of a little 225 backwoods runner. Has anyone inserted the quiet core and could give me some performance observation?

I have installed the Powercore noise-reduction spark arrestor on a WR250R, it quiets down pretty nicely. About $34 bucks I think. (Note: This was installed in a Q4 pipe, had to bend the spark arrestor screen to get it to go in.)

New member here. It only took a week but I've finally read through all 8342 posts here!
I've learned a lot about my favorite bike, the XT225. I've owned it for 6 months or so and I can honestly say that I enjoy riding it more than all my other bikes put together. I don't know what it is but riding this thing on a day trip is the most fun I've had in a long time. There's something about going anywhere, anytime, in any weather and not having to worry about scratches or dirt that I haven't experienced on any other bike. I thought I was through modding mine but thanks to this thread I've got a lot more work to do. And GlennR, I see you are over here too. I've spoken with you over on XT225.com (I'm dlc over there and on most forums but couldn't use that here) Almost forgot, here's my 02 XT: |

You quoted both PNW & me but it’s hard to tell sometimes when it makes it look like it’s only what you wrote Can cause confusion. If you click on the quote button at the lower right of someone’s post you you will get what you see others doing with quotes in some replies here & can type your reply after or even before the quote. You don’t have to use the whole quote & can edit it down to only the particular part that you want to reply to as I did here. In fact I recommend that. It’s irritating when someone quotes a very long post & has little to say about the whole thing. Worse yet quoting someone’s big long string of pix that we have just looked at. ![]() Another good thing about using the ‘quote’ button is that you can click on the little square to the right of the quoted posters screen name & it takes you back to their post if you want to read the whole post again. SBS, huh? Yeah, we got ‘em, nobody else does.

Just did the 3 turn mod to my carb. Mine was only screwed out 1.25 turns from the factory. The difference is noticeable right away. Before, when the bike was cold, I would have to start the bike 4-5 times every time and it wouldn't accept throttle right away. Now, it starts and idles instantly and will accept throttle after a few seconds. I am also able to turn the choke off a lot sooner too.
