If a bike falls over in the desert and only surfphoto notices it, does it make a sound?

I think this is the only man in the world that can flat foot an 950 S.

The idea is to go up the hill very slow and use the clutch for traction.

Here is what you do if you can't make it.

Ned showing how it's done.

Now you go. Yes we have spotter, but they are just to take photos.

Not sure who, but someone got stuck.

To make the hill even more fun, there is a big pit of soft sand right at the top.

The trick is to go down the hill as slow as you can.

Not an easy task on the big bikes.

I had way more fun this weekend riding around in circles in a parking lot. (NOT) Its a real shame I missed it this time around. Oh and pictures....

Sunday's Clinic

Thanks Ned, Les, and Mike for all the great tips. Really had a good time.

Jake, I thought maybe cleaning it too would have been a nice touch??? (you know I'm kidding). I owe you.

A couple pics of the drills are here...

Ned's class is great. If he ever makes his way back East again, I'll take his clinic for a 2nd time. I see you guys didn't work on water crossings though.

So where was the clinic held?

What are the chances for a clinic in the east somewhere in 2007?
Thanks,

What a fantastic weekend.

The clinics were great. It seemed like everyone had a great time and got a lot out of it, which is what I love.

Just as good was gathering around the fire at "Camp Corky". It's amazing what great people advriders are, to a person. I feel lucky to have met y'all, and am already looking forward to next time.

Hi Brad- Clinic was at Ocotillo Wells. We crossed some pretty big rivers, they were just dry is all.

Thanks Ned, Surf, Motomike, inte & Trey!

I took more than 2GB of pictures and MP4 video clips during the class... might be another day or two before I get them uploaded though. I think I went from having dropped the KTM once to 20 times over the course of this weekend, but I learned A LOT!

The trailride dustjunkie led on Saturday was a blast, too... got plenty pictures of that including Diablo Dropoff, Heart Attack Hill, The Squeeze, and some other stuff I can't remember the names of.

P.S. I seem to have a hard thingy poking out of my chest... is that a bad sign?

Maybe one of Jake's sprocket bolts?

What a Weekend!

Both Erin and I had a great time! The skills Ned taught us were instantly beneficial.

It was really cool meeting everyone and putting faces to screen names!

If anyone has the opportunity, take Ned's clinic, you will not be dissapointed!

Thanks Neduro, Surfphoto, Inte and MotoMike!

Thanks Trey650 and Corky for "Camp Corky"!

Ned, Les, Mike, Thank a bunch!

Matt (R914), Thanks for the route help, but more so for the bolts, it would have been a looooong walk...

Trey, thanks for the spot, it was puuuurrrrfect!

Here are some photos that I took on the drive home...

Wow what a fantastic clinic! Ned, you are a excellent instructor with an fantastic group of assistants Thanks Surfphoto, Inte, and Motomike. My pics are coming also, can't wait to see a couple that a few of you took of me too. There was one of me climbing a hill on a trail ride yesterday. The hill had diagonal whoops and loose rocks / sand. It was like riding the 1150 rodeo , but made it to the top!

And of course lots of pics coming from around the campfire too Thank you Trey and all at Camp Corky, and to Roadmeister's excellent hosting for sharing his beautiful Airstream with me for a couple nights

If anybody has pictures they want me to host on my smugmug account just send 'em to me in an email: eranh@sbcglobal dot net

Send full resolution versions (not down-sized) and please limit each email to 20MB or it might get bounced back.

It was great meeting (and riding/partying with) so many new people this weekend!

BTW, Jake gives good stickmeat!
