Well, I made it home in one piece. It was great to meet all of you and an honor to help out and ride with Ned, Les and Inte. I also got my first real GS riding experience when I commandered BigMizzles tank and went hauling ass down the sand wash. My hat is off to the people that ride those things off road! Also, thanks to Trey and his pal Corky for the camping area (even though I didn't camp) and Eric, Rich and Jake for feeding us.

Looks like a great place to train.

Where is Ocotillo Wells?

Edit: Never mind.

Great pics, Craig! Sorry I missed that...looked like a great opportunity for injuries!

On behalf of the class and all curious bystanders... please skip work or household chores until all pics and vids are uploaded for our selfish pleasure!!

John, isn't it your theory that you can circumvent the need for protective gear by covering your entire body with scar tissue?

I will say what everyone has said.

Thanks NED, MIKE, LES, JOHN and everyone who showed up to make this a great weekend of riding. Also Trey for being such a great host. THANKS!!!

Also a special thanks to riding partners Matt and Brandon for an awsome trail ride on Saturday, not to mention the fresh wild boar meat for supper, thanks.

Also, a note of thanks to Zen Slug for all of his work in helping put this together.

As always, it was great seeing a lot of familar faces and meeting some new ones... truely a great bunch of guys.

Thanks Ned

I'll just add to the applause - thanks to all the instructors and especially Ned for a most excellent weekend. I really enjoyed the lesson on night riding you gave Friday evening. It was the most fun I've ever had with a bunch of complete strangers.

Bigmizzle and I went for a short jaunt Sunday morning which included a bit of SAND. Deep SAND, shallow SAND, fine SAND, coarse SAND - all kinds of SAND. And some gnarly hills as well. I'll post some pics tonight.

Here ya go...

As usual, pics do not do justics. Much steeper and bigger whoops than it looks. Bigmizzle tractored up clean and was clearly stoked.
RxRick was not so happy, but made it on the second shot.

First you crash a lot, then you hide in caves?
And this was fun?
I just don't get this younger generation!

Great pics, Matt... and thank you for helping to lead Jakes Saturday ride (lord knows he needed help!)

This is a great one of RiverRat almost dropping off the Diablo Drop-off

This one wins a most awesome camera angle award

This one shows me not keeping my elbows up like Ned instructed us

And this one is a pretty good approximation of what I looked like before my get-off

Chest X-ray scheduled for 1:45pm this afternoon... just to be sure there's nothing I need to worry about going on in there
