so the trail tech and the cyclopes showed up... got some test fittin in tonight.

As you can see from all the wires danglin down, i've got to make something to hold them. It looks like i'll have plenty of room behind the headlight and underneath the trail tech. The carboard template is in the very early stages of design. I'm going to have all the dummy lights in the new dash to the right of the trail tech, and there will be a fair bit of dash shaved off to make access to the key easier. kinda hard to relocate that as its also the steering lock. I was very impressed with the cyclops- i think itll look great. hopefully the front fender i got will be a fairly simple bolt on item. time to call ktmhutt again i guess.... havent got that shippment yet!

How can it be fun if there's not at least an outside chance of dying?

Good looking project. Please keep up the reports. I would be esp. interested in the headlight/mask swap (and how the new one performs) and the Vapor dash - installation, fuctions, visibility. Where did you get your plastics? I need a left side panel/airbox cover in black.

Thanks,

SRG

Heres another shot of the dash area. I ended up taking all of the wires that were hidden behind the old mask and in the speedo housing and stuffing them in a piece of 2 inch radiator hose that i split. Zip tied it shut, and used the rubber mounts on the cyclops to pinch the package in between the top triple tree and the headlight mask. You can sort of see it to the left of the key switch. It has a bit of movement, which i figure is good. I think if i tried to clamp or zip tie the whole thing to something the zip ties would break from the vibes/crashes...

Still waiting for my bro in law to finish the 3" handle bar risers, then i can mount the trail tech and my new dash!
