There are many side roads... Loftquist Lake, Bass Lake, McKaskill Road, Fraser Lake / Elizabeth Lake. Also run north west of Pine Portage, which I believe connects to the Spruce River Road. I lived there, 50 years ago... and not much has changed. No gas stations!!!
Black Sturgeon is also a good place to get lost as well, however may last trip up that way took me through areas with a lot of bear. I believe it was Mon Lake Road. ( sorry about the spelling)
hey thanks!, getting lost in the bush is my favourite haha it just seems like us canadians have TOO much bush sometimes.

Oldrookie,

Make sure you clarify your NoFAR injuries when you pose with that axe.

I ran over a medium sized dog at 70km/h on pavement the other day. Both wheels went over the dog, and the KLR bounced around but never went down. Spooked me out pretty good. The dog laid on the road, not moving, for 30 secs, then got up into a sitting position staring around, quite dazed. I stopped traffic until the dog got off the highway with a bloody mouth.I was amazed it was alive. I rode the KLR into a driveway looking for the owner, and he called and the dog came to him. It seemed fine except for the bloody mouth. Maybe a lucky day for both the dog and me....

Looks like my daughter has Saturday off, and so do I. Think I'll point the Bandit east to the land of the Sleeping Giant Friday after work, or Saturday morning. Don't have to be back till Monday night, so I might head down through Duluth Sunday for dinner at the Texas Road House in Duluth Sunday night. Must remember my Passport.

It actually looked like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOhP1HTZQwY

,

Bloody mouth means internal injuries...it's done for! I killed an armidillo last night in the dark with my truck, scared the hell out of me fortunately no damage to the vehicle.

I'm in Moab now gonna try some of those trails from your book Hekto, Thanks!
