Dunno. Kingston to Dryden? I'd guess at $40.

I have not been up there in a long time. I recall someone said the headframe is no longer standing....

But with the new Osisko gold mine, they re-did the old Sawbill road, and now we are able to ride in the Sapawe way, explore north of Redpaint, and then come out through the Hardtack road.Makes a nice loop ride.

My front tire is great but my rear tire is a poor offroad pattern. A steep hill full of wet leaves this morning, and it didnt take much for it to spin out. I don't need to hit the extreme stuff, more into gravel backroads, two track, or not too hard of single track.I can ride pretty good, just dont have the bike/set up for where the 250 klx seem to have been going.

Weather has been iffy, hope it smartens up.....

ok. I am still trying to figure out what to do. Might be able to change the ride to a TBay area localised shorter ride on Sat. ...but....no guarantees.

edit: just looked at the forecast. Sunday would be THE day for riding. Looks like rain here Friday Aft, Snow/rain mix Sat, etc.

stay tuned I guess. i got some good riding in this season. A bit more would'nt hurt.

Where does the time go?

I just realized that it has been ten years since Steve rode into Dryden with my "new to me" FJ1100...I'll have to find the pictures.

Also, ten years since I started lurking on this website....

I didn't join it until 2004, because I was riding street bikes until then.

That was us. Kari and I had a great ride. It was +4 when we left and didn't warm up till late in the afternoon.
We headed up Spruce River Rd and then east across Escape Lake Rd. The Greenwich Lake wind farm is quite the site in the hills.

Stopped by for a closer look.

Standing underneith with a good wind blowing all you hear is a soft whoosh as the blades pass overhead.

From there we went into Dorion and up the Dorion Cut-Off to Spruce River Road.

Stopped at Wolf Lake for a break. There was evidence of some successful grouse hunting. Saw more hunters than birds.

My camera batteries quit after this.

Went down Spruce River Rd and then crossed over Monday Lake Rd to Dog Lake. Quick run out the old railbed to Ivar Rd and back to Shabaqua.

Great ride thanks Kari. It was nice to ride with you again.

How was the weather in Ely ? We went west to Devils Lake and Bismark ND. No rain to speak of, but a lot of wind.

it was good to get out riding. Soon we will all be inside looking at the computer screen , with the snow piling up on the shed door where your bike is sitting.

I hope to get in a few more KM's before winter sets in.

Its hard to plan anything with the volatile fall weather(as Backroader would also know)

I went for it anyways, and at one point on Saturday there was white rain(sleet) as I came through the Tower Mtn route. That sure has changed. Its getting grown in, and rougher than a dogs bark. 1st gear for much of it with lots of loose square edge stones. The Boreal road is a great high speed run.

So after meeting up with Chuck on Sunday, the weather really never warmed up much through the day, but it was great to ride some of those routes I have'nt been on in years and to see Chuck again. Some nice 4th gear cruising, and the fall colors are peaking with the red maples etc.

Northrider, I almost was gonna stop when I waved to you on the highway. I wish I knew it was you's.....good to see you get in some more miles.

I got in about 1700kms on the weekend going to the HU meeting near Barrie. The weather sucked most of the time but the riding and camping was still fun. The heated jacket and homemade heated gloves were lifesavers.

didn't take many pics but here's some retro kawi's.

Nice pic's Gord...don't see too many of these. I think they were only produced for a couple of years. Apparently a W800 was also supposed to hit the market, but not sure if that transpired.

They look a lot like the old Triumph Bonnevilles. Kawasaki still makes them, but they are not available in Canada or USA.
