Trail Report

The snow in the shaded areas is still quite deep.It is supposed to rain and be warm, so maybe it'll melt.It has'nt been freezing at night so thats good too.

We were out for a ride north of T Bay up towards Dog Lake on Saturday. Any bush roads were still impassable due to snow depth. The snow is going down slowly. Calling for rain tonight and tomorrow and then later in the week. Should knock it down some more.

Hopefully the weather God's are saving the really good stuff for the end of next week

Looking forward to the Icebreaker and meeting some of the northern inmates.

Is there a cocktail reception at ZZR Ron's place Thursday night to start things off on the right foot ( or would that be with the right/left hand and wrist ).

Anyone who wants to show Thursday night...fine with me.

My house is pretty small, but I can accomodate a few people in the house and camper. I have a small tent, if the weather looks good. There's also a reasonably priced motel about 200 feet from my house.

Got a fire pit out back to sit around and shoot the shit...

I think Backroader is showing up a few days early, as he has some other business here.

We could buy a lamb, and sacrifice it to the weather Gods...but knowing you guys, you would just eat it!

If anyone passing thru Thunder Bay on their way to the Icebreaker in Dryden wants some company let me know and we could meet up somewhere. Maybe check out a side route or 2 on the way up.

I trust the lamb we sacrife will be of the "lambs navy rum" type. Easier to prepare.

I should be there Wednesday evening..... what Motel is 200 feet from your house ?

Let me know .

Thanks

Cool2

Within a 3 minute walk: The TransCanada, Chalet Inn, and the Hillcrest
are the cheap ones. Best value is probably the TransCanada. Of course, I live here, so have never stayed at any of them.

The Hillcrest is probably the scummiest one, and the only one without a restaurant.

Within about a 6 minute walk, and if your on the company dime,
is the Best Western, swimming pool, hot tub, decent pizza place, which is also open for breakfast.

I have to get up for work at 4:30 AM on Thursday, so no wobbly pops that day, but I will be up for a few cold ones Thursday evening if you like.

I should be in for the ride, will probably have to drive up after work on thursday.
hopefully some melting goes on there in the next bit. Weather is cooling off here for the end of the month with freezing nights again. We still have lots of snow in the bush.
I did get some riding in last weekend, got my stuff figured out and should be ready for the Icebreaker.
I know you guys like pics of these things lol

got over 1100 kms on over 2 days, only about 150 of dirt road though, too much snow.

Pictures of today

Here's a few from a short ride (maybe 120 km) earlier today.

Bridge at some place that the GPS says is "Walker Falls".

This is the road I was riding...it looked like this most of the way in, with a few minor, but fairly wide water crossings, and maybe an inch of snow here and there....
