I know a few 53 year riders who will do that speed, if they could. Not too many dual sport bikes have that top end.

As one person said on the TBnews web site, I think he was late for his Mensa meeting.

Stunt driving (50k over speed limit qualifies) in Ontario carries a heavy load.

7 demerit points (on a scale of 15)
Impound vehicle for 7 days,
immediate 7 day suspension of licence, and possible up to 2 yr suspension
minimum $2000, and up to $10,000 fine

All that and your insurance will likely go up 500% for 3-5 years

I would think most 53 yr olds would choose differently. Besides folks like this give us all a bad name.

Thunder Bay OPP laid the charge last Wednesday after clocking a motorcyclist driving on the Thunder Bay Expressway at speeds in excess of 230 kilometres an hour.

Not hardcore here, the weather has been sunny and warm the past few days, lots of bikes out (even M/C cops!).
There was a bit of rain for a few days after I arrived last week, but it doesn't seem to stop folks from getting out.

On the positive side, leaving the bike here means I'll be able to come out in the second or third week in Feb and ride the route in reverse, timing arrival for the mid March start of the Winnipeg riding season.

O.K. - it was me. I was taking my CBR150R home from J&J Sports. I had to lie face down on the bike in my swimsuit like Rollie Free on his Vincent Black Lightening at the Bonneville Salt Flats.

I do recall hearing a story about a certain person running up a KZ900 (somewhat modified) to 135mph on the expressway east of what is now the Terry Fox site. I may have been there lol.

Many, many, many...is that enough many's years ago, I hit a speed wobble at 136mph. Almost pitched me off but I saved it.

One time I hit a skunk at 125mph...never bothered to go that fast again!

Ya, it wouldn't be too hard to loose your licence on it that's for sure! Waaaay to easy to get mad at traffic and twist the throtle...easy to get into trouble. All my buddies at the time had fast bikes and every one of them crashed at least once, one of them about 4 times He bought a brand new GSX-R 1100 for $10,0000 I believe it was...4 months later he sold it as a parts bike. One time he fell off it at 60mph...wearing only a helmet (lucky), a pair of shorts and sandals...he cried everytime they changed the wrappings on him at the hospital

Another one had most of his calf ripped off one leg on a street sign...ouch! I was the only lucky one, came close but never crashed and finally smartened up and sold the bike...started dirt biking and hurt myself many times

Crazy times for sure...what I would give to back

Crashed this puppy.... broken bone in hand, dislocated shoulder...multiple cuts and scrapes. Bike was a write-off.

Bought this one damaged and fixed it up. Decided to sell it before I damaged it again.

Now this one !!! what can I say, other than my neighbour's 13 year old dog could "take it" for two blocks in a head to head race

canuckAME, where ya been hiding, looks pretty far north of here. Checking out some routes that we can fly the bikes into and ry and ride them out
