There was a tower there, like a fire tower,I guess. It was dismantled and reassembled at Pithers Point in Fort Frances IIRC.

They recently tore down the Euclid garage at Caland, that was a cool spot to go ride out to. Like the Gold mine, all the old sites are getting remediated.

Lots of good single track and 2 track routes in the area.

Ya it's pretty sad what they are doing...I guess we're all supposed to settle with riding out and looking at a tree I'm trying to find more stuff to see and ride to. For me it makes it more interesting and a chance to take a break and not stare at a tree

I also finding that I'm having to go further and further from TBay to ride and see new stuff. Like to do another ride to Steep Rock sometime, nice area. Working on mapping mines and abandoned stuff from Wawa to Sudbury, maybe do a week long trip to check out the area sometime.

Very tempting, but way to short on cash and storage space, until I reduce some inventory, no more toys for a while.

I like to combine riding with some other activity such as fishing, trapping minnows,or bird hunting and sometimes picking blueberries. It makes for an enjoyable day. Each season has its thing or place to go.The ride itself is always great, but getting off the bike for a while and enjoying a total other experience makes it so much more worthwhile. Also the bike is so much cheaper to run than a truck.

The more you ride, the bigger your "neighborhood" gets. Wisconsin and Minnesota are 2 of my favorite close by places to go for a 3 or 4 day ride....thinking Copper Harbour, or the Bluff roads south of Redwing.....

There's 600 people from all over North America going in and out of that camp. I could have got it from anywhere. Never slept so much in my life.

Atikokan area...Hekto....

What the conditions like in the area? I'm guessing you've been out ice fishing by now, ice thickness? Good for sleds on the backroads or not enough snow? We haven't got enough snow here to sled. Thanks!

There was plenty of snow between Ignace and Vermilion Bay. I did not see any one Ice Fishing and not much snow machine activity. Maybe because it was week day.
