Atikokan area...Hekto....

What the conditions like in the area? I'm guessing you've been out ice fishing by now, ice thickness? Good for sleds on the backroads or not enough snow? We haven't got enough snow here to sled. Thanks!

There was plenty of snow between Ignace and Vermilion Bay. I did not see any one Ice Fishing and not much snow machine activity. Maybe because it was week day.

Theres not really enough snow to run your sled yet. The exception to that is running on the lake ice. I had mine on the lake but riding down the gravel road I could feel the stones on the skiis. Ice is 5" on the average, but there is lakes with much less. I heard there are 1/2 ton pickups driving on Whitefish lake already.......

Thanks Hekto! Guess the boring wait continues... Would be nice to not have winter at all but since it seems that's not going to change anytime soon, it would be nice if we could get some snow to at least try and enjoy winter and pass the time a bit quicker!

Another Imogene Pass Video...

This one is the final approach to the summit on Imogene Pass. Yes, it's shorter Hekto

This will be more in line with the current weather. You'll notice people sking on the mountain side. Apparently it was a ski team practicing. They climb up the hill and ski down...

Lappeman. You had a good year on the bike. Those backcountry routes in Colorado and Utah are stuff I have been wanting to go do for a long time. Whenever I have been in the area I did not have the right motorcycle to go into those places.

Someday on the right bike......
------------------------------------------------
some of my favorite places(cabin fever is setting in real early this year)

Zion

Kings Canyon

Copper Harbour

Nice Photos Hekto! I bought the two "Guide to" books while I was down there, came in handy plus planning with Google on the laptop.

Been a good year on the bike...not so good otherwise. Hope next year brings better things...

I met Rene Cormier, bought his book, it's a good read. He did the long way around the hard way. No financial support so it took him a while.
