It's good when you can laugh about it

Not laughing about this weather though I can't get at my camper to move it and do some work on it. Figured I'd just use the snowblower and make a path...I was able to walk on 2 feet of snow and barely leave a mark. So much for that idea

I spent some time today trying to find explanations for our seemingly colder than normal spring. It seems that some scholars are focusing on rapidly melting arctic ice that is somehow influencing the jet stream and leading to cold temps across Europe and North America. Either way - it is frustrating that there seems to be no end in sight when looking at the long-range forecast.

This is like a bad LSD trip. You're not having fun, you want it to end immediately, and you're freaking out that it might last forever.

Yes. A negative Arctic Oscillation leads to more colder polar air penetrating south.

http://ossfoundation.us/projects/env...oscillation-ao

The Arctic Oscillation can be broken up by region, where cold air leaks south in North America and not Europe, for example. I read a very good article on this in Scientific American last fall.

Snow staying away...for now

Looks like storm broke up at the Border...no passport to cross

Also looks like FINNDIAN is going to get dumped on tonight and tomorrow...be lucky if the snow and ice is gone by the Ice Breaker

I did, border crossing went well.
Bike "looks" fixable, will find out next week when I tear it down a bit.

Ribs are slow to heal, but the shoulder is doing great.
I had full movement about a week after they put the plate in.
Will be no problem making it to the Icebreaker, but may have to put studs on the KLR to get there.
Cheers!

That's great Piffle! Years ago when I broke all my ribs on one side, it took a long, long time before I was comfortable again!

We won't need to take the ferry this year... we'll just put ice tires on and ride straight up.

This reminds me of an old saying...April showers, wait I mean April Snow brings May Thawing

This truly makes me sick to my stomach

I think there's something in the air out there Piffle's riding again in 10 weeks. In Ontario, it took me 21...

It's not in the air..."It's what's mixed with the water"
