Love to show up Mel, but it's a long drive...have to think about it! Thanks for the invite!

Spring?

Here's a short stat for ya! On April 6th we still had 24" of snow on the ground out here in Lappeland! Since April 6th we have had 38" (that's inches!) of snow fall including this morning...more forcasted for tonight! Temps are around 4c during the day and mostly cloudy...barely any melting happening!

Rob, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.. The weather "Fornicators" are suggesting temps in the double digits for this coming weekend here on Prairies. Can't wait for the next round of complaints... It's too hot, we are going have flooding...!!

I've been watching those double digit days...for a month now! It's always, "next week"

I don't think we'll get hot this summer. That was last summer, so we're due for cool temps and more rain than you can handle until the second week in August, with a nice September and winter starting in late October this year

I am getting that feeling, so I backed off of posting.

Hope Ron's doing ok. Haven't heard any behind the scenes updates lately

Don't worry Hekto, I still appreciate the photos...at least until the snow melts here sometime in June

Haven't heard a word from Ron since he posted about a power failure 4 days ago. Hope things are okay with him!

We're all jealous Kari. But we all make our own choices and were not there. Pictures will have to do for now.

I'm doing ok. This a copy and paste from an email I sent one of my friends earlier...tells the story more or less. Many thanks for all the support, and 'specially to Old Fart at Play, and some other close friends, who drove all the way down here to visit!!

There was an odd sequence of events. I felt awful during my last run at work. Got off the plane Christmas Day, wife picked me up, and I collapsed.
She took me to emergency where they found out I had Sepsis (bacteria in my blood) Spent the next few weeks in the hospital and the next 6-7 weeks on antibiotics. They found out the bacteria had attached itself to the heart valve, and I was flown to Hamilton for open heart surgery to repair the valve.
The operation was successful, and I was sent home with a strong heart, to recuperate.
About two weeks later, I noticed I was getting weaker again. I went back to emergency, and found out that I had significant water gain and was in heart failure. At that time my cardiologist put me on water pills as a treatment and was told that my heart function was down to 23%.
This is where it all goes to hell...I had been given no direction after the operation, nobody had reduced the amount of diuretic pills I was getting, and I was suffering from extreme dehydration, back to emergency. They pumped me back up with intravenous saline, and sent me home. At least I was feeling better.
A few days later, I couldn't breathe. Back to emergency again.
They found out a virus had attacked my heart, but was gone, and couldn't be identified. My heart was down to 5% efficiency, and they put me on an air ambulance to Ottawa with a very low chance of survival. (Didn't think I would live through the trip).
I woke up here five days later, didn't know where I was, what day it was...but at least my brain and memories were not affected.
Currently, I'm continuing to shock them with my level of recovery. They were fully prepared to do a heart transplant when I woke up...some 70's song was on the radio, and they said I awoke and started playing air guitar.
I expect to be here another week, followed by either a recovery over time (best case) or a heart transplant. (if best case doesn't work)
Anyway, that's the story so far.

Ron, time to buy a lottery ticket!
You have more lives than a cat!
Think of you every day and hope the recovery continues.
Cheers, Brian
