great ride yesterday

it was a great way to start the riding season.
ROB looked very good riding the KTM.

thanks to MIKE S for meeting us at the border and taking us on a short side trip

ROB thanks for coming along, i know you probably find highway riding boring. at least you found that old fire tower that i know you are going to visit later this season.

i had a fantastic day.

Three things keep me off a new KTM 990....Cowardice, short legs, and the price of divorce attorneys! Looks like you guys had a great ride! It's MELTING!

Oh yeah, forgot to mention the old fire tower on mount Maud to Nanabijou. There's also supposed to be another one off of the other old section of hwy 61. Another reason to visit the area again...and Joe's Road may be the trail to take there

For some reason the highway didn't seem as boring on the 950

Sounds good to me. Always interested in exploring old fire towers.

Really wide, a lot wider at the engine than I thought it would be. The extra weight seems to be placed low though but you can feel it at slow speeds and when you ride into a corner too hot

Tons of power...love that power Little more gas range would be nice though. I know there's expensive tanks you can get for it that will increase the distance...would make a nice gravel/blacktop touring bike for sure.

FINNDIAN...I still can't figure out how you can ride that thing like a dirtbike, leaving the hwy at hwy speed and heading into the crap through the ditch and over and then back onto the hwy at speed still Guess I'll just have to get more seat time on one
gas range. I get about 800 km to a tank . Ya the tanks are expensive.

I love my EXC in the tight trails but the thing that's great about the 950 is you can do anything with it. Getting somewhere on an EXC sucks.

Ya it's heavy when you push it out of the garage. When people ask "how do you ride that bike in this shit" The answer is FAST! An object in motion tends to stay in motion

Wait til you try the 950SE at the NOFAR, Lappeman.

I had a fun time riding with you guys on Sunday, and glad you rode to the old crossing.

Here's some information on the original Outlaw Bridge:

Perfectly ride-able, when there is no snow.

NoFar Rally

With my current medical status, there's no way I'll be able to make it...but if anyone needs tent space/place to crash/garage or tools for the night, you are free to stay the night at my place. I'm just off the highway, several of the Winnipeg Riders know how to get there, anyone else can PM me for an address/phone number.

I'll have some cold beer in the fridge (which I can't drink ) and something on the barbeque.(which I probably can't eat )

Still, it would be nice to see everyone again, take some pics and live vicariously through you for few hours.

May 1st.... Yup that's snow. This dusting is apparently short lived as the temps. are supposed to skyrocket back into the low teens by the weekend. I will be heading out today to pick up addition warm weather riding gear for the trek eastward, which is scheduled to leave in 15 days.
