I just realized how long ago I started this thread...it was just after Canada finally got it's own space. (Used to be that Canada and Alaska were together, which wasn't working the greatest)

Ron, the Northern Ont thread is a great cross sectional view of ADV.

That was the original idea, and what it has become. A place where the regional riders can throw ideas around.

Of course the regional rides, Icebreaker, Nofar, Feliz's rally, all ended up being great places for the riders in the area to get together in Meatspace.

When I first started lurking on ADVRider in 2002, it was still in it's infancy, and only had a few separate forums...nothing like it is now. There was only a handful of us on here back then.

Things have changed, somewhat!

Yes - Ron thanks for creating the Northern Riders section. You are a pioneer!

BTW - I'm in Bancroft, ON right now for the CBR125R annual gathering. Had an incredible ride out to Calabogie, ON today. I think this might be one of the best riding areas in Ontario. Empty, tons of twists and dips, incredible scenery - a little of everything.

You be the judge....

Some of the the folks from the Winnipeg/surrounding area forum are in Graysville Manitoba attending a mini-rally to celebrate Calan818's 50th Birthday...We asked the guys to assume their best Captain Morgan pose - and are posting the resulting pictures here for you folks in the Northern Riders forum to judge...who really does Captain Morgan justice...and why?

Here then, are the first few :

The VStrom Riding Women of Winnipeg (and Surrounding Area) - who are clearly women of discerning taste - unanimously declare inmate 2whlrider to be the individual who offered the best show of leg in an attempt to sway the vote...

THat may have been the case last night, but today, I am not even sure he is standing upright...on the other hand, PiffleMaster rolled out of his sleeping bag as the sun came up this morning, and is bright-eyed and bushy tailed like he never even had a drop of that Ol' Black Rum...

You know what they say - Old age and treachery will always overcome youth and good looks...and Piffle was the oldest person present for most of the party...

Piffle's got years of experience behind him, tried and true methods and a sound mind...nobody can compete with that I just know someone will comment on the "sound mind" part
