Great, I'm being dragged to Winnipeg to see Paul McCartney. Okay, I'll survive.

Yeah - it was pretty incredible. Kari says "Hey - that's a CBR125R". We all look out the window from inside the Madhouse and see a guy on a black 2007 CBR125R at a red light. He has saddlebags, a gas container and other items strapped to his bike and looks like he's touring on it. Kari asks if I know him. I look closely - but realize I have no idea who it is. Then we spot his B.C. licence plate. The rider then moves his bike over to the corner to ask a guy on the sidewalk for directions. I ask Steve "Should I go out there and invite him in?!?" Everyone says "Sure!". So I run outside and leap across the crosswalk, tap him on the shoulder and say "I'm a fellow CBR125R rider. Come inside and meet some other riders. I'll buy you lunch." He says "O.K." He then turns his bike around and I lead him to our parking spot. His name is Levi. And he's traveling from Victoria, B.C. to Halifax, N.S. - across the country - to begin a Master's in urban planning at Dalhousie. He couldn't believe his good fortune in being kidnapped by us!

After lunch Ron offered up his place for the night. We ended up having some drinks on my deck for the afternoon. He's been sleeping on the ground in a bivy - so I gave him one of my Exped Synmat 3.5" insulated air pads. This should keep him warmer and more comfortable at night.

Thanks so much for your hospitality as always at the Madhouse - Feliz. I'm sure it will be an experience that Levi remembers fondly. And thanks Ron for giving him a place to stay.

It was great meeting you too Kari!!! I've heard so many stories about you - and I've seen your video - so it felt like I was meeting a celebrity. Ha..ha.. Great meeting you too Rosie - again (Rosie recalled that I had been her instructor previously....it was the first class I taught at Lakehead U....in 1993!!!).

Mike

Levi is headed fr the Sault today, if you see a loaded up CBR125, it's pretty much got to be him.

Sorry Nanabijou, no final pic, I turned off at Terry Fox, and he kept going.

My Trip...

I'm still posting some photos and video if anyone is still interested. Bit more stuff to upload after this. Gotta do some work to the bike also, so that I can ride it again.

not-quite-a-ride-report

I have spent the last day and a half trying to put down some words about my Maritime Meandering 2013 Tour - but ended up with something that is not quite a ride report...

Anyway, if you are interested, here is the link:

http://advrider.com/forums/showthrea...1#post22115081

I had a great time, and will be cross-posting this one to both the Winnipeg/Surrounding Area and the Maritime forums, as I want the folks I met to know how much their help was appreciated....

Read the ride report and sounds like a memorable experience. Way to go. Really like it when a woman takes on a challenge that many a rider would not do alone. Good for you Lee. I suspect this just the beginning for you.

Ron looking at the VBR schedule it looks like your friend is gonna be doing a presentation. (Iceman)

On another note, I fired up "your" 600 and it started up pretty easy and settled into a smooth idle shortly thereafter. Last year it was a bit fussy, not this time.

I saw this beauty in Cusco today and thought I would share. I think that a motorcycle built for wheel chairs is great idea...... Hecto no worries , we may not have to get a Side car after all
