If you can find an old film negative, try the "film trick" first.

Run the negative betwen the fork seal and leg, it may pull out the bit of dirt that's causing the leak.

Maraisrider checking in to Northern Riders for the 1st time.
I'm sitting in my office doing books on a hot Sunday afternoon wishing I was out on a ride somewhere. My new Dakar sitting in the shed with a fortune in farkles & only 500km on it. Bored, I check into ADvrider to see whats happening. A bunch of you are doing the Sandilands & I'm not there. Man I gotta start paying attention here! Post some pics & show me what I missed.
I'd like to explore the Pembina Valley some time if anyones up to it.

Yep, t'was a good (but wet, for some of us) time.

I think a ride report will be made...I need to inventory my pics after dinner. I believe I caught a pic of a shiny BMW on it's side

Hey all

Hey all! Thanks for the invite for the Sunday ride it was great! I was happy to meet most of you for the first time! It was a shorter ride, but it was still a blast...as I have mentioned, I can't get online much due to filters at work, no net at home, means I only get online at the local library. So do keep me in mind next time you are heading out, carl@jpb.ca is the place to get a hold of me.

I am hoping to have a good ride out my way on July 12th or 13th, explore the Roseisle area, and some nice back roads...let me know who is all available!

Hey, just checking the D2D ride report and low and behold.. there he was HEKTOGLIDER..... he made it. He looks no worst for wear.

Good ride report...looks they get more 6 or 8 riders at time for that run.

Well there's the real quick'n dirty trailside way of replacing the seal without opening the fork up at all and disassembling. Basically remove fork from the bike; very carefully screw two wood screws into the bad seal on either side then with side cutter type pliers lift the seal out by prying with the pliers using the screws to lift it. Slide off and bang new one on.

But, you likely should to a whole flush/clean 'n replace the fluid job . . .

ZZRron, were you shopping for a new bike in Headingly ? Did you get a chance to check out the D2D...... I'm thinking we need to compete with that rally and grow the Icebreaker. Maybe the boys in T.Bay would co-host something with US. Hey just a thought !

If they had a Versys in stock, it would be in my garage right now.
(ZZR_Wife has given the nod of approval)

We would probably get more takers for the Icebreaker if we ran it a bit later. However, the whole idea is that it's SUPPOSED to be a tough ride!

We also seem to get alot of people saying "I'm in" but then don't show up.

You are probabaly so right on that one...... it's hard for some people to committ.

We should not change the Icebreaker, however with the weather becoming so more unpredicatable, maybe it should be held later. It was this year.

Anyway I thought it would a good idea to get at more of the Thunder Bay back country....there is some much to see and do.

A new Versys you say....well then you will probabaly spend more time jumping curbs than dual sporting.....

I'll be up in Late August at some point.... Taking some vacation to go on a fishing trip at the end of July and plan on doing a couple of long rides in Aug. & Sept.

I'll let you know when I'm in your area.
