Looks like a fun afternoon. Any problems getting the flooded bike going?

Thanks so much for doing this. You guys just made my Canada Day. Adrian came over on Saturday to my house with Ron and Sonya for an early Canada Day deck party. He's a good lad.

Hey Mike, I am hurt that I was not on the guest list for the Canada Day Deck Party!!!!!

We will take good care of Adrian here in Winnipeg.... I just hope he is not going to be disappointed when he finds out the next stretch of his trip is going to be really flat and hot!!!!

( my neighbours dog ran a way from home yesterday, but we can still see him off in the distance, so I suppose he not missing yet!)

He may also have to alter his route on the TCAT. The flooding in the west of Manitoba and a lot of Saskatchewan May be an issue. Last I counted there were over 20 provincial highways closed due to high water. The gravel in those areas may also be under water.

From the looks of his bike (banged up pretty good) the flooding may be gone by the time it's sorted out.
Doubt much (if any) of my RT parts bike will fit his GS. We'll see.

No parts match from yours to his.

Biggest issue is the brake reservoir, from the pics. Fixed one like this before, works great:

Bike on centerstand. Adjust brake so the remaining area is level. Remove remains of old reservoir, keep screws for when you get a new one. Clean out crap, pour in fresh fluid, bleed slowly until you have a good brake. Top up little recess above piston.

Now, grab a tire patch a little bigger than the remaining area. Peel off plastic from patch, place over opening. Put a loonie (or toonie) over top of that. Get buddy to hold all that in place, use self-fusing tape to hold whole thing in place.

Ride. Check it every 600 miles or so, top up fluid if needed.

The rest is zip ties and duct tape.

Took a few kicks but fortunately didn't suck any water into the engine
