XR650L turnsig and regulator/ rectifier brackets
If you are considering the Acerbis 6.6gal (22L) fuel tank for your XRL and you are concerned about the turnsigs hitting the tank and the regulator/ rectifier rubbing on the tank, here's a useful and inexpensive modification.
I got mine at the Home Depot, but any place you can buy aluminum stock- angle stock for the turnsigs and flat stock for relocating the rectifier. Make a pattern and draw it on the alloy stock, then use your motortool or other hightech device to cut and drill it. Depending on the thickness of the aluminum you may have to use shorter upper stanchion/ triple clamp bolts for the turnsigs. There is enough length of wire on the rectifier that you don't need to cut/ splice; you only have to re-route slightly. I've had this setup on for 19,000km, and I love the 440km (to dry) range of this tank. I had to grind the fins on the rectifier a tiny little bit for the RH tank mount- you may be able to do a better job with careful planning, but everything is snug and still together after thousands of KM's on bumpy roads... ![]() ![]() ![]()

Great detail!
Noobs,
Don't be afraid to move and grind the rectifier. Didn't affect it at all. After the install, I did a 2300 mile trip up the Dempster Hiway to Inuvik and back in four days. Hammered the snot out of the ol' WarPig with zero issues! Thanks for the effort you put into this mod! Worked like a champ! Jim
