We should pick a weekend and meet in Tellico for lunch and a ride sometime soon. I could get maybe get Fred and some of the gang together. Mike P.S. A few members of our local club will be camping at Crusoe/Blue Ridge the weekend of the August 25th

Another long overdue update.
Well, I've been just busy and haven't updated this thread in a bit. I have a little over a thousand miles on the bike since it's been together. Only a couple of minor hiccups along the way that I had to sort through.
I happened upon a clock and voltmeter locally a guy had in his garage. They are the earlier white numerals on black background gauges, and far as I can tell they were new in the original boxes. Got those installed and wired in this weekend. Haven't found the bulb holders yet for illumination. Anyone know a source for those ? Took a long ride with my friend Jim on his airhead yesterday. We did the Cherohala/Gap loop from Knoxville. Nice clear day and a little cool on top of the mountain. Hope the weather is like this for the rally in 2 weeks ! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

If the gauges use the 1/4 turn plastic bulb holders, I think I've seen those there too. The company has a website, check the packaging. - Jim |

I just came across this thread today and have read it from start to finish...
That is an absolutely fantastic resto job, Mike! I've been all excited about just refurbishing my '01 1150GS, and now this thread has me dreaming of doing a full resto' of my own airhead (once I find one to work on)! Nice, nice work! Bohdan |
