Congratulations on a job well done!
I enjoyed the way you seemed to know what you needed to do and kept the flow of work and parts going. Thats the way to get a bike finished within a decent period of time and I KNOW you'll love that bike as much as I love mine! I've never been crazy about black/smoke Beemers but that one looks great! enjoy!!!

It took first place in the club show last weekend. All voting by dealer staff. I was lucky in that some of the members with other nice bikes were attending Mid Ohio vintage days and not present. ![]() ![]() Mike

Very nice work. You have alot of time and effort into this and it looks like it is now paying off for you.

Damnit! I tried finding this thread for an hour or two a few weeks ago.
Glad to see it resurface. Beautiful bike.

Hi Mike,
saw this today. Well done. ![]() For perfekt look go to you local Dealer, there you'll get a brand new front weel. There's a recall from BMW for this wheels, your airhead is delivered with. Some of these wheels had broken and BMW will change it, even they are about 30 years old. The BMW internal Bulletin-Nr. : Recall campaign 84V-092 traebbe |

Wow, back from the depths. Thanks for the props guys.
I have a new set of tires to go on it for this upcoming riding season. Gonna try the B'stones this time. I did go to the dealer a couple of months ago to get the wheel recall started. I gave them the frame numbers and he said there was no open recall on the bike. ![]() I have printed out the info and verified the wheel casting is "81" vintage, so I know the wheel is a recall item, and I'm going to make a call to corporate to see what's up. ![]() Mike

That homebrew must really be good, he doesn't remember seeing it at the previous rallys in Tellico.
