That's am awsome looking bike - NOT sure 'bout the KTM-colors tho' :)
The 2:1 gives great extra hight i'm sure - did you calculate how many kilos it has saved ? I've heard around 10 kg going from regular to 2-in-1 ?

I'm not sure exactly but 10 kgs is probably not far off. I had a set of GYTR tail pipes prior to the 2 into 1 setup and so never used the bike with the original tail pipes fitted.
What I like about the setup now is the extra ground clearance I have gained and also the ability to use the space on the LHS to mount a can for extra fuel when needed.

Cheers

Ive just put my 450F up for sale as I need something more distance worthy...

Im in 2 minds on the XT660R and the XR650R. The 650R is tough as nails but probably wont be as good on the tar. The 660 wont be as good in off-road conditions.

There are plenty of farkles either way, the yamaha 660 is a great motor.

Any advice?

Excellent looking system Agricon, can I ask you how you found OTR to deal with, I'm looking at a few items they have and just like to know if they're reputable.
Cheers.

Hi Lerxstdawg
I have used OTR quite a bit this year and overall I found them to be very good. I had an issue with a damaged consignment and they replaced it without issue. The turnaround time on orders to NZ is very good from OTR as is there communication on delivery status especially compared to the other main parts supplier from Germany which I have also used. :-)
In my experience I would have no problem with recommending them to you.
Good luck and thanks for the comment on the bike.
Cheers

XT onroad - yes

I promise this isn't a troll (just because I'm an ex-owner) but I owned an XT660R for about 2 years and used it to commute to work. It never let me down as a commuting hack even when it snowed! What I would say though is that it is a pretty lousy offroad bike. It looks like it should be pretty good but even with the 21" front I found it did not inspire confidence, lacks a nice stable feel when stood on the pegs, is really rather heavy even for a 600 and the throttle is jerky. I struggled with buffeting and vibes too. Also, why is engine in the KTM690smc so breathtaking and the XT is so flat and lack-lustre. You could argue that the KTM is premium brand but it's amazing the different experience you get from each 600cc!

I bought the wr250r. Done 1000's of miles on the road and it is soo much better than the xt offroad. It's not everyones' 'cup of tea' however.
