PUI Hockey Night
I'm trying to make decent margaritas. So far, they taste shitty, but more might help.
Great viewage on Hockey Night in Canada, Pittsburgh vs. Montreal followed by my home-town Minnesota squad vs. Vancouver. the Wild currently suck, but I'm confident I can drink enough tequila between now and 9pm to make it passable. As an added bonus I can post horrifically shitty music ideas in the wedding music thread all night. bah humbug. Lets get pissed!

He pulled his bid because he and the NHL couldn't vome to terms on the future city of the team. The NHL greatly wants the Pens to stay in Pittsburgh (as do I). But without a new arena, the team would leave. I 'bet' that he was saying 'no plan B.' If the Isle of Capri, gets the gaming license, i.e. for slots, they promised to fully fund a new arena. That's the only real way that the Pens will get a new building to play in. There really is no 'plan B.' Two other companies are bidding for the same license, also. And becuase of politics and some other crap, it is likely that one of them might walk away with it. If that's the case, no new arena-at least for a while (longer). So 'plan B' is, what if the Isle doesn't get the license? Than who knows, we'll see. Basille wanted to move the team, soon, if there's no new arena built. To be competitive. And I wouldn't blame him. Pittsburgh is screwing around with the Pens while other cities are promising to build any arena the Pens would want if they will come play there. So if Pittsburgh loses the team, they have no one to blame. They catered to the Steelers (Heinz field) and Pirates (PNC Pank, nice place, but why oh why did we build that lousy team a ballpark???). Now they're sticking it to the Pens. Basille, BTW, and IMHO, didn't want to buy the Penguins particularly. He just has more money than he knows what to do with and thought one day that it would be cool to buy a sports team. Whether it be hockey or basketball or whatever. It just so happens that the Pens are for sale, and at a bargain price.

. . . .And I think that in the end, the team will get their arena and stay in the Burgh. Somehow, some way.

Argh... The Avs are off tonight and I'm too cheap to get Center Ice. Only hockey on right now is on CSTV - Harvard vs Dartmouth. Not a bad game oddly enough..
