What to do with an extra 1200GSA Seat?

If you had an extra seat/pan for a GSA, what would you do with it? (Burning it or throwing it into the ocean is not an option)

Would you try and carve it out to make it flat?
Send it off to have it RDLed?
Try out one of those seatconcepts covers?
Sell it to an unsuspecting regular GS rider to fund a different seat?
Other Options?
I put a Sargent seat on my 09 GSA. It was ok, but I didn't love it. Regardless it went with the bike in the flood.

The stock seat from my 09 is still sitting on a shelf (front and back). It fits on my 12 though so I was thinking since I don't 'need' this seat, maybe I could experiment with it.

I know what's out there and have read all the saddle reviews ad nausea. This isn't meant to be another 'buy x' seat, it's meant more as: I have the freedom to experiment without disabling my ride, so I'm open to opinions.

I did a Seat Concepts on mine. Fun to learn how to staple a cover on and now I have a spare seat with a different shape if I want to mix things up. However, don't ask me about the SC shape because I have an older pattern, not what they currently sell.

If it was me and I didn't have one, I'd send it to Russell, no question about it.

Mine lives on top of the refrigerator in the garage... No idea why I keep it... it causes me tremendous pain.

I had an extra one. I sold it for a profit. Never really had an issue with my stock GSA seat. I guess because I broke my ass in with 12 hour rides on the Versys.

The stock Versys seat is terrible. I was able to buy a Russell for that bike as well, which transformed it. Great bike.

The stock GS/A seats are much better. I did some longer trips with my GS stock seat and, while not ideal, was not terrible.

I would just keep them for now, unless you need the dough. Several years ago, I bought used F & R ADV seats off IBMR for $200, both in new condition. I rode with them on my 2005, because they were definitely better than the stock GS seat. Eventually sent them off to Russell to make F&R RDL's. My only regret is not doing it sooner. But if you're thinking Russell, or Mayer, or any of the customs, I'd try to find an inmate within riding distance who would let you come over, swat seats, and go for a ride. Obviously, the seat wouldn't be made for you, but it should give you an idea of whether that's the direction you want to go. I was able to do that with a Sargent, and with a Mayer. Glad I did. The RDL is fantastic for me and GF, but not for everybody.

I usually throw mine back on when I wash the bike as my wunderlich seat has a sheep skin cover and I couldn't be bothered untying it.
