Desperate 4 zumo-where buy UK now? walk in..

OK, so its Christmas eve. I leave for Africa on New Years eve. I see the prices of the zumo have dropped to a more realistic 500GBPs - and will probably continue to drop in January (as did the Rider). I've decided to get one for my trip - but either nobody stocks them (Halfords, Dixons, Currys etc.) or I can only find sellers on line - where I'll have to risk the delivery ie. next day (but sweating).

I live up North (Newcastle) does anyone know anywhere I could walk in and buy the zumo? I suppose shops wont be open till 26th, 27th - but I'm travelling to Liverpool - so could hit that area or manchester or of course N,Castle area.

Any ideas - dont want to leave for Africa without it!!! as travelling alone and will certainly take some of the stress away...

Hey. I'm in the same position as you. Well I'm looking for a zumo anyway and can't find anywhere other than the internet. Sheffield GPS has the zumo for £500, but thats still a long way for you to go and pick one up. Sorry I didn't see your post earlier, guess its a bit late now.

Best of luck on your trip, are you taking in any of the Dakar? Was going to fly out to Lisbon to see everyone off, but it doesn't look possible now

Yeah, I saw the sheffiled site, have been ringin them all week. The site says theyre open for business between xmas and NY, but no answer - and the ansa phone is full (slight worry there!). I have a mate in Manchester tomorrow - so trying again. At the end of the day, its certainly not a necessity - just a toy I wanted to have with me, bit of a security blanket. Was even tempted on buying the nuvi - which I can get from any halfords - still may do so.

Roll on NY eve... most of the other guys here have already gone - so we may touch base or may not. Even so am mega excited!!! and a little scared!
