I had to cut short last night, I heard a bike riding around, it was one of ours, Felipe, so we have 3 people here now.

It wasn't that cold last night, low 30's but an eventfull night. First, another water hose busted, this one was big, and it was spraying really close to my tent, so at one in the morning as Felipe was setting up his tent I was moving mine.

Then we realized there were horses running loose all over the place, around our trucks, bikes and tents. I think someone left the gate open next door at the stables, since later we saw a couple of trucks driving around like they were looking for the horses. I got to bed late again and once I was tucked in the tent I heard the horses again near my tent. Weird

Now our tent section is filled with water and mud from all the water but it didn't get as far as our tents, we still have 4 feet of dry ground. It didn't freeze either like the night before last.

I've got to go to Big Bend. You've made it look such fun and I don't live that far away. Great report and awesome pics You can win in the rugged outdoor sleeping in tents when its really cold thing.

How much longer will you get to stay? Welcome to TEXAS too

Glad you're having fun. Must be quite the change from Chicagoland. I've been down that way a few times, but not on a bike or dual sport. I'd love to try that area out. I will be close done there for work soon.

Hi Anna! Sorry, just now found the thread.

Great write-up. Wonderful photos, as usual. Looks like a lot of fun!

Ok, you need to tell these guys the truck is rented (tho you'll prolly buy one now) so they can stop creamin their draws! Oh well, they probably would anyway with your pretty pics and prose.

Glad you're having such a great time.

Take care. Continued fun, Mark H.

next time you go.

If you like, next time let me know your going, and if it when I'm out there I'd be happy to show you around. I have rider meet me there from all over. I have been riding out there since I thank about 81. So could show you some of the thing you would never get to see other wise.

Great pics and story

I was down there about three months ago. Been great looking at your pictures and remembering the few roads I was able to ride. I do need to get back with the idea of spending several days of exploring. The one thing I did take upon myself was to find a spot where I coulod wade across to Mexico.

Going south is ok , some guys in green trucks want to make a big deal out of it if they catch you coming back . We used to cross over near Lajitas for a buck in a row boat ,drink cheap Mexican beer for a few hours then ride back to Peppers ranch at Terlinqua . That was back in the quanity before quality days . Great photos , maybe I will take some this trip . SEYA
