Dec 27th...what a great day today, I think it hit 80 degrees. We started our day with a ride though a dry river bed... I saved the bike from falling like 20-30 times

A bit rough at times

Even found some mud in this dry place

Road block

Here is a picture Mike took of Felipe and I riding

You knew this was going to happen sooner or later

I had a little crash 6" sand will do that. I was trying to get my bike next to this egg shaped rock... I got it there anyway

Right behind the camp ground there is a road called Indian Head, that's where I had my little spill, this road was amazing, not all gravel like the roads in the park, these pictures are from there.

In the afternoon we rode out to the Big Bend basin

We also did a bit of dirt riding in the park, but not much

When we got back Byron showed up, we got 4 people again

Living Vicariously

Considering we've got more than three feet of snow on the ground and another one to two feet on the way, I'm really enjoying your photos of sunshine and arid terrain. Enjoy the remainder of the trip and travel safely on your way back east.

Several OKIEs will be in Big Bend around the third week of January. We decided to hang around and wait for 2007. Don't forget opening night in OKC if you make it this way. There will be several dual sporters out on the town having a good time . Have fun and be safe on your way home. Hope the weather holds for you.

Great report! Glad you're enjoying Texas. Be careful, you might just enjoy yourself so much you might want to take up residence like these fine folks from over at the WWW.BMWMOA.ORG site did.

The photographs show that good times are being had by all. Parallel universe, while I have been mostly working over the holidays others are riding under sunny skies. I live vicariously through your ride report.

I swear that reports like this should be subsidized by the local State Dept.'s of Tourism! Texas has NEVER been on my list to ride...but, this looks TOTALLY AWESOME!
