Mac, thanks for your efforts. Been back in Colorado this summer after a boring 9 months in Florida and bagging as many passes as I could on my DR650. Your google data base makes riding even more fun and will enable me to keep crossing off the list. Great stuff!! You might even force me to buy a Garmin.

Thanks, but the real credit goes to BishopRL - he's built the data behind the fun.

Thank you so much for doing this. I can't tell you how many hours I've spent exploring google earth with these markers turned on.

Do you want updates on missing passes?

I noticed Hurricane Pass, California Pass, and Corkscrew pass are all missing from the last version I downloaded. (cuz I just rode over 'em - there were signs labeling them).

passes on the iphone

Trying to figure out how to make this useful on the iphone... I tried copying the url and pasting into the search field on the google earth app - no go.

Then I tried pasting it into the search field on maps and it sorta worked. It shows pushpins for every pass. You can map a rout to the pushpin but that doesn't necessarily get you on the trail.

I'm going to keep trying...

Great job with this, and just wanted to say I use gpsbabel for all my conversion needs. It will convert to from many formats - http://www.gpsbabel.org/

For example, I downloaded your KMZ file and unzipped it to get the kml file and then used gpsbabel to convert the gpx with the following command:

gpsbabel -i kml -f doc.kml -o gpx -F doc.gpx

Just wanted to point this out for people wanting to get a gpx file for their gps/iphone. BTW, I used MotionX GPS on my iPhone, and I was able to email the gpx file to my phone and it works great. Again, thanks for all your hard work.
